I was bullied in my early twenties once when I told people I did this. Ten years later I come across this video and see it's normal and doctors do it. Thanks for sharing because it reminded me those people were just immature and sexist.

Thanks for this! I've been shaving my face for a few years- there's nothing like the feeling of that smooooth skin! I have mature skin, and before I started shaving, I felt like no makeup, tinted moisturizer, etc. looked good- it all kind of made my skin look worse! Shaving gets rid of the peach fuzz and also exfoliates the dry dead skin cells that take so long to turn over at my age! Great video

I probably should do it more often perhaps once a week in fact, since I still work full time and want to look my best, I'm going to start doing it every week. Finally! Someone mentioned the treatment of peach fuzz on the face especially as you hit your 40s, 50s, and up. Strange things happen to hair in general after menopause, and part of my journey was an increase in peach fuzz. For me, I prefer to wash my face as usual (no triple washing for me), and I use a pretty, pink electric shaver. Afterward, I still get to see the fuzz when I clean out my razor. I do use isopropyl alcohol...to clean my shaver. I've not experienced any ingrown hair, and I don't have to spend $ on all those cleansers. Your skin is lovely btw. So's mine =D

I think the hair grows back myth comes from misunderstanding what happens. Before you shave, you have soft hairs that are thin on the ends. Also, your hairs are different lengths. When you shave, everything is the same length and the hairs are wider with sharp edges. It's understandable that people will say this is more hair because it can feel that way. I think if it were explained this way, people would be able to understand. Just saying "it doesn't" won't make a difference because it contradicts their lived experience.

I have been shaving my face awhile, but I learned some tips not only about prep before but after. I am older and it seems my hair grows back faster but I always think of my Dad who used to say (he was scraping his face) because we are. I've been shaving my face and neck for about 20 years now (I'm 58) and I use a men's razor and shaving cream (to avoid the "pink tax"). But I really like these techniques too because it seems much gentler. My chin hair is naturally thick and hard so I often have to cover the same area multiple times with the razor to get all the hair off. This can aggravate my skin though so I'll try these tips. I used to have a lot of hair on my forearms until I hit perimenopause in my late 40s. And then virtually overnight - no more arm hair! Suddenly something I was self-conscious of all my life was no longer an issue! Same with pretty much all of my body hair - leg, armpit, and pubic - it's all but disappeared! EXCEPT.... IT RELOCATED TO MY FACE! LOL! Nature sucks.... Anyways, I have never shaved my face because I was always afraid it would come back thicker or I'd end up with a 5'oclock shadow. So this video is GREAT NEWS!! I am going to try shaving my peach-fuzzy cheeks and upper lip! I'll keep tweezing my chin, cuz those hairs are coarse and are getting fewer and fewer anyways over the years, and are quite satisfying to pull out by the roots...

What did you do? Why are you slimy?" Then, the stubble-feel started, which lasted about a week. It's been about 6 weeks, and my beautiful peach fuzz is nearly back. I'll be keeping it! I may do my upper lip and side of my nose now and then, but the rest of it will be staying. My makeup does not look better without the peach fuzz - it looks weird and unnatural. I have been shaving my face for 30 years. A Korean friend told me that Asian women have been doing it for centuries. I wash it with Vani Cream cleanser, rinse, add more, shave, rinse. Pat dry and use Vani Cream lotion. That's it. I have very sensitive skin but no problem. I usually do this in the shower.

I have a hormonal master, it is embarrassing, I use wax strips to use at home, while I’m at it, I do my area, (side’s of my face) I love how smooth my face looks. and them my moistures and creams that work for my skin. Thank you for your tips, I’m going to try your way also. 71 year old active woman.

Thank you for sharing this info with the youngs. I learned 30 years ago that Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor (and many other film stars) shaved regularly because of the makeup they had to wear and the way peach fuzz photographs. I get by with every 3-4 weeks and very seldom see clogged pores. Grrl power, spread the word!

This is the best video on face shaving! I used to shave my face and then went to waxing. Now that I'm on Retin A I can't wax anymore, so it's back to shaving. You gave some awesome tips! It's amazing how soft your skin can feel after shaving like that! And i agree - it is SO satisfying to see the hair and gunk come off your skin. I love that part! ❤

The misconception that the hair grows thicker is a funny one. Your hair is tapers before you cut it/shave it but when you cut/shave it you are removing the taper end so the thicker "looking" a.k.a. chopped off part looks thicker but it eventually tapers...so is does not grow back thicker, it only looks thicker for a bit until the tips thins out/tapers naturally.

It’s kind of sad that because of filters and editing in almost every picture everyone takes, people aren’t used to “texture” anymore. And certainly don’t appreciate that “texture” can be normal. I’m in my 30s and finally started “fixing” my skin last year. I dermaplane here and there for exfoliation because I use tret and sometimes the dry skin really sticks.

I’ve been shaving my upper lip since 1982 (a year into college). I had been bleaching my mustache with Jolen bleach (made for this), but one day that made me vomit. I got a high end man’s razor and started shaving with a thin moisturizer and I’ve never looked back! Now I use Tinkle razors and do my cheeks as well.

I've been a fan of dry shaving about a year now and love it, especially because now i have the odd gray hair sprout like they own the place so, its good to know I've eliminated them too. I still prefer to wax my upper lip and eye brows, which i have done about 20 years with Sally Hanson strips. I love the video as it reinforced that I'm not hurting my skin.

I've tried the dry way and the oil way, but my fav is actually the Japanese method which is with a gel moisturizer! I use the Illiyoon gel and it helps to soothe the skin and also it allows me to know exactly where I missed a spot. Random question but have you heard of high frequency wands? I keep seeing those products on Amazon and people say it's amazing for acne. But I have trouble finding the actual science behind it!
@TheDailyStahrdust
@TheDailyStahrdust 6 ай бұрын
High Frequency Wand uses gas (red) wave or neon (blue) wave electrodes to penetrate the skin. The benefits of gas (red) help stimulate collagen and provide circulation to grow hair, or help with dull stagnant and/or congested skin …and the (blue) neon is best for oily congested skin even with the problematic hormonal cystic acne or bacterial acne…which can heal faster through it’s antimicrobial and/or oxygenating high frequency. I’m a Clinical and Holistic Master Aesthetician/Nutritionist of 28+ years and I use high frequency as a basic staple for nearly all skin types…including Acne Rosacea if used properly and gently. You can use a gauze strip mask or thin gauze 4x4 to serve as a barrier and increase oxygen flow of the high frequency electric current. I encourage everyone I work with to purchase their own high frequency products if they are dealing with any kind of acne. It is a life saver!!!✨

Great video! I have blonde hair, but have ALWAYS noticed people with lots of hair on their faces, arms, etc., and it made me so embarrassed for them, and for my own hair that made me really self conscious. FINALLY shaving my face when I was 28 was the best thing EVER, but I was shy to do it at first thinking people would notice... Whatever, I finally did it :-) I've been shaving my face for 30+ years, now, plus go to an electrologist to treat especially course or dark hairs. I love the way it is a type of exfoliation-like men experience, every time they shave. Removing dead skin cells has got to be a good thing... right?! My question has always been which is the best tool to use-especially as I get older and my eye sight is more challenged. I'm going to try the tickle product you demonstrated. THANK You!
