Did you use the elastic ribbon as the lower thread and a normal thread as the upper thread or did you also use an elastic ribbon as the upper thread? And can you so it the other way round that you an elastic ribbon at the top and a normal one at the bottom?
@KarinaPlum
@KarinaPlum 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I used a normal thread on top and the elastic thread on the bottom through the bobbin. I don’t think doing it the other way around would be ideal because we don’t want the elastic thread to show up on the right side of the fabric. We just need it “behind the scenes” on the wrong side to create the smocked design.

when I sew with the elastic bobbin it won't scrunch up. What am I doing wrong?
@KarinaPlum

Ellie Fader try double checking your tension and making sure that it’s not too loose or tight. Another problem might be the elastic thread on the bobbin is not wound correctly.

Why did mine go really small towards the end meaning it didn’t work because as I continued to sew the fabric got smaller and smaller any tips ??
@KarinaPlum
@KarinaPlum 4 жыл бұрын
do you mean the fabric got shorter in terms of length? The elastic thread causes a smocked effect which bunches the fabric together which is why you need to add those additional inches mentioned in the video.
