We're often told to use our legs, but HOW we use them and WHEN we use them is the key! My 8 Week Shooting Program is on sale now at seemikedunn.com (Ground Up 2.0)

Bro you are literally the best shooting coach. So glad I came across you. I’ve watched all the other “Elite” shooting coaches online and none of them seem to have a lasting effect. The way you break down shooting almost to a molecular level really seems to do the trick. Really can’t speak more highly on you my man. Keep up the good work!

agree i actually hadnt hit a shot in 3 years before I watched him. At 32 years old I actually average 3 3 pointers a game now just from learning this concept about getting under the ball. Nobody broke it down the way he was able to. Every other coach couldnt explain "the timing" aspect of when to shoot so my rythm was always so bad because I never really understood when to release it. Once you understand this concept its like you master the formula and it feels so natural to shoot. The funny part is now I could take weeks off come to a ball court and still hit my shots. Prior to this I'd train every single day and still just wasnt able to make any shots in my games.

One of the best teacher online after having watched close to a hundred videos. I love the physics and explanation behind why you should do a thing that way because it makes sense and you can reproduce it. I have the problem of pushing the ball forward while my body is going up when I'm shooting the 3pt and it's exactly like you described I can be deadly one day and utter trash the next one. I came to the same conclusion you are teaching after stumbling by myself for several month trying to rework my shot so I'm happy I found the "correct" way by trial and error but I really wished I could have seen those video 6 months earlier xD Thanks for your work.

In my experience, the lower the release point, the longer the distance. Should I still change the release point? And after watching the video, I learned that power transmission works well only when the power flows in the same direction as much as possible. Conversely, wouldn't it be efficient to jump forward and shoot at a lower release point at the same time? Thank you for always providing good information.

That point of leverage may get lower the further away you go. Not uncommon. As far as jumping forward at a lower release point it may be difficult to get the desired arc doing so.

What happens when someone jumps out and has low release point? Asking as a youth coach that has a hot distance shooter from low release point that Id like to correct as
@SeeMikeDunn Жыл бұрын
Hard to get the ball up in the air that way. ball has to go straight and UP to go in

Is foot placement a factor? Your feet are mostly flat to the ground and pointed towards the basket. Lot's of NBA players (including S. Curry) shoot from the balls of their feet and mostly have feet at an angle regarding the basket. Not quite the topic of this video but I'd be thankful if you could comment on this: flat vs balls of the feet; angle of feet.

I really like this video, but doesn't this way of shooting create a two motion shot? Isn't that bad ?
@SeeMikeDunn Жыл бұрын
Depends on how you view 1 vs 2 motion. I see it more so as ball changing direction or not. Just bc you see the ball stop doesn't mean the energy flowing underneath it (so long as sequencing correct and releasing on way up) doesn't mean it's a 2 motion shot.
@teddyp421Ай бұрын
Don’t get caught up in motion shooting I had this problem just because they said “curry did it” if you can use your energy correctly and create soft touch that’s the key! Remember ray allen was a 2 motion shooter.
