Are they ACCURATE or Lethal? Thought we would go Old school Trick shot This week So I dug out my old wrist rocket slingshot. As a kid i played with the old wrist rocket slingshot here and there but only became frustrated with its In accuracy. And when i hung up my bow in Favor of Learning the slingshot to take with me on History channel the Survival show Alone I went old school And bought A wrist rocket Slingshot. And once again the old frustrations return. And despite being A fairly well practiced Archer Accurate see with the slingshot alluded me. I had to ask myself was the slingshot to old school could it do the job in a survival situation. Before too long I switch to a custom slingshot With Flat band For greater accuracy. So it's been just about two years since I hung up the old wrist rocket. So I thought I dig it out And we go old school trick shot This Tuesday And find out If its the slingshot or the shooter.

When my dad was around my age, him and his friend carried really powerful slingshots everywhere they went, my dad used it so often that his friend would be able to throw a tin can in the air and my dad would hit the can, boosting it in the air then hit it again before it his the ground. Even now he still has two really powerfull slingshots and great aim.

I just finished 3D printing a slingshot and decided to watch your video as I have never shot a flat band slinger before. After a few minutes I was able to constantly hit a ping pong ball at around 15ft. I know it is not impressive but definitely an improvement to my aim with compared to that of a wrist rocket. Very helpful and fun video.

It's actually kinda cool how much overlap there is between slingshots and firearms. Sure, the controls are different, but the basics of stance, grip, and sight alignment being the most important all match up. And it's really true about focusing in. Usually it's abbreviated to "aim small, miss small," but when I trained with guys in close protection, we aim for the X in the centre rather than the circle surrounding it, and aim for the number 5 rather than the whole T-zone.

As an old timer....we always made our own. Back in the 50's, you could find inner tubes made from red rubber. Those were by far the best for your bands. To us southern boys a "sling shot" was a totally different weapon....think David & Goliath. We called them "bean flips" even though round rocks were the normal ammo.

I've been a slingshot shooter for about 40 years and I lerned by myself how to shoot intuitively (like when you throw a stone with your hand) and I've always shot pretty accurately even though I don't aim at all.I have also always shot with the rubber bands in front and never behind,🤔 but after watching your video, I have already changed them😉.I never had a frame shot, only once I hit my hand, besides I always considered myself a right-handed shooter because I held the slingshot with my right hand, and watching your video, it turns out that I am a leftt-handed shooter 🤣...There is always something to learn. Greetings from Mexico.

After all these years!!!! I am SO glad I found this vid and your channel! The explanation of the proper sighting alignment-picture was priceless!! Next, I always thought that tubes were the way to go for more power, but now I know better!! Can't wait to start practicing tomorrow! Strangely enough, LOTS of the little mom and pop shops here (Thailand) sell slingshots, believing them to be little more than toys, but they're cheap! AND I found one shop that sells replacement bands!! They are brownish rubber, kind of thick and narrow, not the yellow "hi-tech" rubber/plastic I see on your channel, so not sure about the 'snappiness', but the main thing for me is to get the stance/grip/sighting/release/accuracy worked out first. Right? Priorities!! lol! PS I just also watched the "Old School Daisy Marksman Wrist-Rocket" vid, so I'll try both, as I have a wood fork-type slingshot (or 3) AND an old wrist rocket. Gonna be fun!!! Thanks for making and sharing SUCH a great vid!!

Of course I had to watch your entire channel on "everything" slingshot, and decided on the simpleshot Hammer XT with both shot and bow sling heads. This thing is AMAZING! I am a taller person and really allows me to adjust my draw quickly and is very comfortable even with my arthritic hands and joints. I just received some basic training arrows @ 34" (for my tall lanky draw) and can't wait to start practicing. Shout out to Fowler for his recommendations and informative vids and to Simpleshot for awesome customizable shooters for non-standard sized people.

One thing that is imo very important is how you tilt your head. If everything is consitent, but you will tilt a little bit different every time, that will affect the accuracy a lot. Also moving anchor point on the cheek means that the pouch won't be in line with the eye, so moving up, it will shoot more to left, moving down, more to right.

My son and I just watched this video after spending an hour of frustration, missing cans. We watched this video, and now he is nailing them from 15 yards. He said "I wish I could call this guy and thank him for his video, I love my slingshot now!" Thank you sir.

Most excellent top grade tutorial!!! Too many so-called tutorials are in the woods around the barn with annoyances (ie: music, wind, non-sense-jibberish, etc..) instead of coming straight to point! People are time conscious; really appreciate you recognize that fact!! I have two slingshots: Barnett Pro Diablo which has seen very little use (band dry-rotted with less than a 100 shots and five years ownership. Just bought a Rochan a week ago( has springs all sorts of things, kind of looks like a crossbow), wondering if you have any pointers on that? Anyhow, Sure wish everyone who has knowledge to impart to others would do as you did! Simple and straight to the point. Well done!!🤩

I agree, tubular bands are frustrating cause they tend to be stiff to pull back. You literally need to strengthen your hands and arms just to pull them back.

I've always thought of archery and slingshooting as first cousins - they've many things in common. With slingshooting, you won't break or lose an expensive arrow, plus slingshooting is a lot more portable and less expensive overall. Also, there's usually many more places that you can shoot a slingshot where flying arrows wouldn't be permissible or practical. THWACK!
