I work as a unit still photographer and after two front element scratches on two different Canon lenses which has been repaired by Canon I now use a BxW Pro Clear front filter and I have no front element scratches. I would still use them for a possible board strike. Not much you can do with a fisheye lens though unless you used a large piece of clear plexiglass in front of you.

I have the Rokinon fisheye 8 mm. It's awesome and I use it with my Nikon D3200. Good for the price. Stills are amazing with it.

1:43 the lens was a 9ish mm equivalent because you use an apsc body and a full frame lens, because of the smaller sensor you multiply the focal length by 1.6 for canon or 1.5 for nikon

Opteka and Rokinon fisheyes are the exact samething under different names. Same goes for the Bower and Samyang. If you're going to get a fisheye on a budget, grab a Peleng 8mm. It's way wider than the Opteka/Rokinon and sharper at bigger apertures, and it's only a little more expensive

whats the cheapest lens for canon that gives the circular fish eye look? I know cheaper lenses that go for a few hundred dollars have no zoom feature and only go to 8mm, rather than 14mm where the circular fisheye actually happens.

When it comes to *low budget fisheye* is to have a look at CCTV lenses. They need an adaptor but offer decent quality for a relatively low price.

Optekia, Rokinin and Sigma are all the same lens, Rok and Opt are just manual exposure adjustments and the sigma will auto focus, the Cannon is the ONLY Lens that will produce a professional looking shot.

if you're properly filming with a fisheye it is more than likely that your lens and/or camera will get hit with a ballistic skateboard...thats why for me: Rokinon 8mm is my choice. (cuz its less than $300) lol Great vids brotha.

The original use of fisheye lens in skateboarding is to make the trick look higher and better.This is what Century MK1 is all about.The new "fisheye lens" aren't making the tricks look better and higher it just gives a better wide view.This is why many street skater are keeping it VX-MK1...Fuck HD, VX for life.
