Super easy method that is also suitable for net curtains with a pattern on.
The first half of the video up until 18:39 minutes is if you are shortening a net curtain without a pattern.
If your curtains have a pattern on then watch until the end of the video.

Hi there, thank you for this video. Do you use a fine needle for this (e.g. 60/8 or 65/9)?
