This video is for those of you who may be using Inkscape with a lower resolution screen. You may notice that the toolbar on the lower left-hand side of your menu is being cut off, and because of that you can't access all of your tools. To fix this problem, all you have to do is pull the menu out by clicking and dragging it and the tools are then placed into multiple vertical columns, allowing you to access them.
If you're not able to pull your menu out like this then be sure to upgrade to the latest version of Inkscape here: inkscape.org/release/
Additionally, you may notice that some of your system tools are missing from the toolbar at the top of your screen. This is because of a layout change in the latest version of Inkscape that now places those tools on the right-hand side of your screen by default.
To revert back to the classic mode, all you have to do is disable Wide Screen mode by going to View and deselecting Wide Screen, and then your system tools should accessible.
