I bought fl studio in 2011, tried it a little bit, got overwhelmed and gave up after looking for youtube videos that never really explained what i was looking for. Decided to try my hand on fl studio again last week, found your youtube videos and you explain everything so well you make it feel intuitive. Nice tutorial, but one method he didn't mention is using the Fruity Envelope Controller to sidechain. For me, the Fruity Envelope Controller in conjunction with fruity balance (on the mixer channels being sidechained) is a nice way to do sidechaining, especially in genres like DnB where you're likely to have complex non-4-on-the-floor rhythms. This method takes a bit of setting up but it gives you a decent amount of control on sidechaining with complex rhythms once you crack it. Specifically, you can trigger hits on the pattern sequencer Additionally you could use this method in conjunction with a fruity formula controller to automate the intensity of the sidechaining. I used this method in a DnB tune I composed using FL Studio.

For me with the gross beat method (and other quick sidechain plugins like Kickstart), I usually use an EQ to cut the high end to remove that pop/click noise that you hear
