How to: Silent Drag Quick Fix

How to fix a silent drag. Make it click again if it no longer does. A quick fix I decided to try out for the sake of one night on the water and it worked! Not a long term fix but it serves it's purpose.

*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*

Great video!!!! I always prefer to try and fix something before I'll replace it, I hate feeling like I wasted money if I didn't have to, My vacuum is probably the thing I fix the most the Great part is with proper cord replacement I can Vacuum the whole house without ever changing outlets lol Awesome video!!!!

Does the clicking actually make a difference performance wise or is it just so you can hear the drag is in use?

You are correct. It is simply a noise maker and serves no other purpose.

Just buy a new bloody reel. I guess not all of us are fortunate to do so, but it would actually be less a headache doing all this and a much better long term fix. If you bought a semi-decent reel to begin with, companies will happily send you out the part which you can find the number for in the schematics provided. Doesn't cost much.

Hi there! Well that reel will need something more durable than a credit card. Over time it wore out. I can still hear it but it's faint. I think I will be replacing it with an aluminum strip this year. The rest of the reel is still as perfect as when I got it.

@@TheFishinDad great stuff i had a idea the other day what about a paperclip it should have enough spring in the steel to return to its original place i havent tried it but it works in my head haha its another cheap if you want to c ontinue with the series see what works thanx for the reply keep up the good work

Depending on your fishing style, yes. Alot of people set theyre drag loose so when a fish takes off with the bait you hear your drag "scream". Tighten the drag and set the hook your in there !

It won't affect the performance of the reel in any way. The sound is just there to be heard and serves no other function

lol ur to embarrassed XD i show the back of my car and that thing looks like a garbage can with kayaks, rods, tackle boxes, tackle bags, reels, etc. trust me its insane

N.I. Ah yes, intentional play on words incorporating the end of the Greek alphabet into the word advised to further demonstrate it could be the end of your reel if done wrong.... Nah that's bs... Sumtimes I dont spell the beast. Gud catch!
