I love your teaching style, I think I am going to give screen printing a try. I have some frames, paint, etc. that has been sitting in my garage a couple years, because I haven't got up the nerves to learn how to try it.

I always follow the 50% rule by dividing the width. That looks much better.

So if you have shirts to make for : Onsies, all sizes in youth, all sizes in adult, how do you determine font size?

Can someone please help me. In this example, there are multiple t-shirt sizes that need to be made for a family photo shoot. Let’s say family A last name is Westmoreland, and family B last name is Jones. If both tees are size x-large, I can get a larger font on the tee that has Jones (less words) for a last name. But if I do that, wouldn’t it look kinda crazy when everyone is pictured together? Well, there are a total of 20 kids, ranging in t-shirt size from a onesie to an extra large. I am so confused about this that I am probably not doing a good job at asking this question. Do I use the same size font on all the shirts that are the same size: 120 font on all x-large shirts, regardless of how long the longest word is? Sorry for kinda rambling, but I would greatly appreciate any help as I want to do a good job.

If you are planning the designs for one group photo, it would probably look best if all of the names used the same font size. I would start with the name with the most letters to determine the font size then go from there. If there is a super short name (four or five letters) sometimes it looks ok to bump up the font size a little. In a group photo it will still look cohesive.

24 hours is ideal- but you can sometimes speed that up with a heat gun

This is super helpful, but I still find it difficult to make sure the design isn’t crooked/tilted on the shirt. 😭

Thanks! Have you tried folding the shirts in half and lightly ironing down the center before you start? That shows you the center point and may help you with alignment!
