Nice job -- just what I needed. I was lifting my dog's back legs off the ground and, as you indicated, that's not the way to do it.

Is it possible for the sling to put too much pressure on our dogs abdomen? We are using a towel and blanket and just want to make sure it’s okay for her....

This video got me crying my baby whose not even a year yet is now paralyzed because we couldn't take him to his normal vet so we took him to a different but that was closer. The vet told us our dog was fine next day he was paralyzed from the waist down because but didn't look at him properly and missed his pinched nerve.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Just yesterday my dog went paralyzed in both his back legs due to a damaged disc in his spine. We noticed at 6:30pm and took him straight to our vet who agreed that was what caused it after doing x-rays. We called right now and there is no improvement. We are trying to come to terms with taking care of our dog who may be paralyzed for life.

I'm in the exact same position as you. The first vet said he was fine, he put him on valium because he thought he was having a panic attack. He was up the night before panting so hard. We brought him home and he walked in to the house no problem, next morning his back legs were gone...... shocking. My poor little baby is really having a time of it now. I feel absolutely helpless. I wish you the strength and courage to not give up on your pooch. We are all in this together ❤

Idk if this will get seen, but... HOW do you prevent friction hurts on the belly?? I’ve been using a soft towel and my dog has hurts on her very thin skin.... :(

Hi Fabienne, if your dog is having trouble with sensitive skin, you may want to look into buying a dog sling that has more padding such as GingerLead Dog Slings: www.gingerlead.com/dog-slings/dog-support-rehabilitation-harnesses.htm

Sometimes, especially in obese patients, it is hard to avoid friction from the sling.

What if they are still in pain from getting hit by car? My dog bit me when I hurt him lifting to put in sling now I’m scared to do it

That dog was not walking his hind legs despite the sling. He was dragging them.

Youre going to end up with a dog with bloody toes. If you're going to drag their feet around you better. Put some shoes on the dog and don't put out bad advice
