You are too right about not smelling like food. I definitely prefer fresh easy scents. I’m very scent sensitive. I easily get headaches from them so I’m all about simple freshness.

All good tips! I like the downy but I use snuggle softener. One thing about me & hair that's hard is that I see patients in their homes. If they smoke, its a wrap! 😩 I've recently invested in some dry shampoo spray to help especially while I have braids.
