Autumn, the comment you made distinguishing between the people who do and don't believe CM and classical mix was so helpful! This was one of the points of ambiguity I've been noticing in my early look into homeschooling philosophies. I can see how indeed classical CM is, and that has me bought in more for sure.

Ah, yes. It’s a *thing* for people to draw the line between the two. I don’t understand it! (Well, actually, I think it usually means they have a very narrow definition of classical education that’s probably neo-classical. And Mason is not neo-classical. I have a whole podcast about that!) I find a lot of joy and comfort in finding her connections to the classical tradition! I’d be wary of following one fallible woman! But seeing her carry on principles from a long-standing tradition gives me great confidence.

I'm currently reading Karen Glass' book "Consider This: Charlotte Mason and the Classical Tradition" -- and it clears up a LOT of this aspect that I was unclear about, as well! Do look into it. I think Autumn has mentioned Karen Glass before (as a founder of Ambleside).

This video is wonderful! I too fully subscribe to the fact that CM is part of classical tradition. Have you read Andrew Kern's article on his analysis of why CM is indeed classical? It's concise and definitive. Also, could you share where your shirt is from? It's so cute! Thank you!

I haven't caught that Andrew Kern article but I love learning from him! I'll definitely be looking it up. (And there's so much Mason throughout the CiRCE resources generally!) The shirt is an old one from Loft, I think? We're talking circa 2015 or 2016.

I like the collections from Riverbend Press and/or Sir Thomas North. Plutarch was a clear writer so he's not as hard to follow as some of the other old guys!
