It's a lot safer to disassemble your monitor so you actually get the bevel off and backplate off then do the spraypainting process. Not only can you sort out the issue with possibly messing up your vents but you also don't risk painting the actual screen and risking damanging it during cleanup. Also make sure you have proper ventalation.

Since it’s spray paint does the paint ever scratch off? I’m new to spray paint so I don’t exactly know what primer does either.

i would think it’s pretty hard to chip especially a monitor since you’re not typically messing around with it

I would use sandpaper wherever you wanna paint to scratch off that glossy coating. That way, the paint will stick to the plastic better and not scratch off. Then go over the spray paint with clear coat to add back that glossy finish to protect the paint from scratches.

If you have rough spots on your monitor,go for a rougher grit,but only to smooth those bits out,and just work your way down ,the paint will cover it up

PSA: DO NOT SPRAY PAINT THE BACK OF YOUR MONITOR/VENTS. You will RUIN your monitor, if not immediately, eventually. If you have any sort of expensive monitor, especially do not cover the barcode or ID of the monitor like shown here. You basically void the warranty by painting the bevel anyway but still do not do this. ONLY paint your bevel and or stands.

@@visigothsloth4819 there is no point painting the back of your monitor since you do not see it. You could remove the back plate and paint on its own but I personally find this unnecessary and potentially damaging to your monitor.

@@akane1928 2 months past and haven't painted mine. I gave up on that idea. Idk. it looks easy in the vid but hard on my monitor because it has tiny bezels asjfjsdgj and I don't want to destroy it. good luck to yours! :D
