Notice the lack of glue that makes it to the bottom of the crack by pounding. Hint apply glue to both surfaces.

you forgot to apply glue to the hole, you pulled all the glue off the pin. the dowel at the bottom is practically dry.

You can mix the shavings with wood putty or wood glue and fill in the crack and after it dries and is sanded it will match perfectly

Как то хреново чепики заклеил, нужно обязательно промазать отверстие, и потом чепики. И клей нужен не в таком количестве!

Is there a reason to leave the crack open for anything to get in? You stabilized, but there's still a problem. Shouldn't that be covered at least?

What exactly did this accomplish? Wood is still cracked, the gap didn't get smaller, so why would anyone waste time doing this?

If you're gonna go through all the work you might as well just fill the crack w/ epoxy.....

Never wipe away wet glue you'll log the pores of the wood. Let it dry and chisel the dried excess glue off
