Spray drops of water on the deck -Fix cracks -clean with deck cleaner -then diluted cleaner - use good water based finish -avoid applying at full sunlight -use good painting brushes and rolls -two coats recommended

Okay...i have a coloured thompson stain on mine from last year, will it wash off with a cleaner easier then just pressure washing it, tried for a sec today and its going to come off hard but needs to be done.

I’ve watched a million of these. They say to spray surrounding grass and shrubs with water before starting. It’ll dilute the cleaner enough.

Semi transparent is the only way to go, at least for as long as your wood is still in good shape. Use solid stain in its last years.

Making varnish is easy and cheaper and more health conscious. My aunt and uncle couldn't figure out why they kept feeling sick. Then they figures out it was the fumes coming from the sun hitting the newly vanished deck.
