@@TheDoucets Nothing as significant as yours. We're building a plant stand for one of my 40-year-old staghorn ferns. It's current metal stand (an old clothes rack LOL 😂) is bowing and leaning. This thing weighs about 300 lbs, so we should have upgraded to 4x4s a long time ago. Anyway, I did a search for staining them and yours was the first video! Unfortunately, I had already purchased Cherry stain before the lockdown, so it's not going to be as gorgeous as your result, but thanks for the tips and inspiration. SW 3512 Cider Mill. Bought it at Sherwin Williams. Love the color. I would love to see your finished guitar. That sounds really cool. Video your process.

Ok sorry for the delay but the paint is Sail Cloth by Benjamin Moore. Its a brick house. We had like 5 different samples but we liked this the best.

Sc-142 Sail cloth is the outside color. I think Benjamin Moore paint. I suggest getting a couple samples, paint a couple squares next to each other. That's how we decided. Sorry just getting to your comment, I had to find the extra paint can in the garage. 😀

The stain is the same that I put on the post. It just looks darker. It should be in the video description. That is a Sherwin Williams stain.

I'm not sure. You will probably need to ask Sherwin Williams or maybe online research. I didn't stain mine till after we were here a couple years and they started to look bad. I will admit I was excited to see someone local watched my video. It put a smile on my face. 😃

It is just an inexpensive sander. I think it was a craftsman. Key is to get the right grit sandpaper. Take your time. Hope this helps.

Its Cypress, i just stained it that color. Yes I had to pressure wash before to get the mildew off. Let it dry a couple days before you sand/stain.

I just stained it. However thats been a few months ago. I do need to touch it up because some old sealer bleed through. You could seal it. I dont think it would hurt it. My house faces north so its not direct sunlight. How about yours? Whats your project?

@@TheDoucets I am doing the exact same thing as you. I just installed 3 - 8" X 8" X 10' cypress posts on my house. The posts are on the west side of my house. I am in New Iberia, LA

Excellent. That sun is gonna bake the west side so i recommend a sealer. Maybe consult with a reputable place like Sherwin Williams and see what they recommend. They helped me alot here in Westlake down the toad from you.😀

100%, I used an orbital for the edges close to the paint. Glad it worked for ya. 👍

Its called Cider Mill. Its really nice. It is found at Sherwin Williams. These guys are very helpful as to what to use for the project your working on so I would suggest asking them the type of stain to use.

I didnt seal it. But it would be a good idea to seal it especially if it faces direct sunlight. Im not a staining guru or anything so I recommend reading the recommendations on the stain on what to use. Hope this helps.
