I really like your videos. I'm from Norway and have a old Draco 23 foot. With a 350 chevy/volvo penta engine. This was a great video also good to explain why you use the blower, alot of people does not see the importance and safety by checking the engine and smell for gas leaks. Keep up the good work.

Hello Steve, I have a 2008 Mercruiser 4.3 engine and I am able to start the engine for the first time with out having to push the throttle forward but after being out on the water and want to head back to the dock, the motor won't start unless I push the throttle forward like you do on your video. I've seen videos of people saying that they start their engines with the throttle stick in the "N" position.

Hello and thank you for this very informative video. I appreciate you taking the time to show us all. I have a 2010 Stingray 195 LX and every time I take it out to the lake and I haven't started it for a few weeks I have to do this. I also push throttle down to prime it pump it 5-7 times then I crank it and it'll start after maybe second time but then when it does start, as soon as I put it on Neutral it shuts off. How long do I have to heat the boat up until I can actually place the throttle back on neutral? This is embarrassing to me because I have to start all over and I'm already in the water in people's way lol. Do i leave it this way until it warms up pretty good then take it back to the neutral position?

Great video.. new boater here... is it safe to say I should expect to do this process anytime the boat needs to be started after its been sitting a couple hours? Mainly curious to the amount of time that indicates a cold start... sitting over the winter, only sitting a few days, or anytime the engine has cooled down to ambient air temperature.

i know this is an old video but any comments would be appreciated if possible but when I do the same procedure which seems simple enough, I get nothing when I turn the key, been trying for a while now but today it did crank a little (didn't turn all the way over) forward but nothing after that, it's something I'm doing wrong, the mechanic had it started a few months ago! :)
