Wait. So you can drive up, unload, set up, climb onto a roof, do the whole roof, climb down, clean up, load back up and drive away in 45 minutes? Or was that with a crew of a half dozen pressure washers all working at once?

You must live in a big city lmao I don’t I live almost 2 hours from a major city and there’s no shot I could land something like that around here. Most I made in a job is $500. Purely depends where you live at. Higher cost of living areas like cities you can expect to be paid more.

I started off with buying a Ryobi pressure washer from Harbor Freight for around $80 and bought a better wand for it. Drove around a couple of neighborhoods and pressure washed small driveways for $50-$100 per. Took pics and posted on social media along with contact info. Business has been jumping off since then. Doing it for almost 2 years now as a side hustle and have made over $150K.... Thinking about going full time and hopefully double that.

That's interesting. Do you have a water tank? Do you have have a pickup truck. I was thinking of just doing driveways part time, just as a side hustle. I like your story. You got to charge more than $100!! What state?
@dongordon7225
@dongordon7225 7 ай бұрын
@markj6681 that was then. Yes I have a pick up truck a water tank and a generator. But the difference now clients don't have a problem with me using their water and electricity so it makes a world of difference. So now that I have a nice reputation with all of them plus new clients I was able to actually quit my full time job and do this full time. The reason why I charged up to $100 was because at the time the neighborhoods in Tennessee people have short driveways. But now I charge $250 per driveways for residential areas for a certain square footage. Anything more than that range I charge more but still keep it affordable for most of my clients. It's the HOA you want to look for because they have no choice but to keep it their areas clean or else they'll get a fine and of course they don't won't to pay those fines and don't want to do it themselves really. So I have a whole neighborhood to myself consisting of 125 houses ranging from $250-$550 per. I do this for every house every month so they money is crazy good just to play in some water at the clients expense. So what did I do with my water tank and generator you ask, I now also provide a trash can cleaning service. I charge $25 for the first can and $10 for each additional can. I treat the cans with a pre-rinse of bleach and all purpose cleaner. Then use my pressure washer and foam cannon to soap it up real good then use a long handle brush to start the initial cleaning inside and out before pressure washing with the rinse. Then I dry the cans with my blower then use a pump sprayer to add a fragrance to the cans. PEOPLE LOVE IT. I hope this helps and good luck with your potential success

@twstdreality 6 ай бұрын
@@dongordon7225how did you secure all those houses in that neighborhood? Door to door or did you talk with HOA and they sent emails to everyone about your service? Also, what are the services you are providing every month because driveways really only need to be pressure washed no more than once a year? Thanks!

@@dongordon7225what do you do with the stuck on crud in the can? I assume that can’t just be washed off out into the street right? When you got started did everyone just let you use their water so you charge just for the labor basically and then once you move up to having your own tank you charged more? I already have a pretty good washer I use on my home. I don’t know how much to charge. I have a truck, but no idea what a tank and all that would even cost.

I see lot of comments from people that don't know what their talking about or doing things wrong. If you are in a place or state where you don't make money in the business you run, look for the problems. Maybe you are in the wrong state or place for the job you do as an entrepreneur. If people don't value your prices, change the place where you live, or change the work you do. Look for what is needed in that area. Being an entrepreneur is more than just the money. Doing research before you start a business is crucial. People just think that entrepreneurs make lot of money. But that's wrong. There is way more than that before even starting with a business. I 'm an entrepreneur for 14 years, and it is hard work, research, always learning new things, be able to find solutions for problems, and so on. Easy money does not exist.

Keep on hustling, make connections, get job site contracts if you can. For those who don’t know why CA is tough, it’s because we don’t encounter the mold and algae growth like say in TX or FL. Driveways stay clean for years for the most part other than the oil stains. I just moved to TX and man it’s way different out here. Every building and piece of concrete needs it out here.

@@journeywithjay3197 STANDING for long periods of time doing that work, WILL mess with your back. You can try to wear a lower back belt to help (depends how bad yours is.) The bending part (putting strain on your back) would be connecting and disconnecting the hose to the pressure washer (rig like his would make it easier than using basic gasoline pressure washer machine off the floor.) Overall, business like that can and more than likely WILL give you pain; considering your back issues. You can always try it first. Rent a regular pressure washer machine, and clean few driveways to see how you feel after it.

You have to apply common sense here. Remember that every guy on the Internet is benching 225lb and looks like Brad Pitt while making 7 figures working 2 hour days trading crypto The guys in this video are top 1% or even top 1% of top 1% of people in their field. Majority are not making anywhere close to that. Also, what is the margin on their business. The "I made $200k" means nothing if this is the revenue before expense and taxes. This is a low skill, commodity business so the barriers to entry are low and competition is high, so the margins are extremely slim.

Do not fall for the easy game IT TAKES HARD WORK. You need to do your research, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH. Sure it is easy to get in it but you can damage something if you do not know what you are doing. People see the money but people don't realize that there are upkeeps to the equipment, insurance, truck payments, trailer payments, chemicals, and so on. 6-800 for pressure washing and brush? about 800 for pressure washer but those brushes are almost 800 unless you get a cheap ryobi 100 one.
@Jobber
@Jobber 10 ай бұрын
Starting a pressure washing business requires some investment, but there are more affordable options available for both pressure washing brushes and pressure washers, including budget-friendly brands like Ryobi (like you mentioned). Finding a balance between quality and cost can help you get started without breaking the bank.

You will lose your bet. I made about 225k in the first 3 years and worked alone, in a country that is 500 times smaler than United States, with on every corner the same business. Yes only a handfull will make bigger money, because most think being an entrepreneur is just easy money. But that is the choice people make. But it is possible to make 100k + in your first year.

@@baggedasix5319what country may I ask? I live in Canada and the problem here is that it’s freezing for half of the year. Spraying water won’t do a thing other than create an interesting ice sculpture.

@displaychicken Belgium. But United States you can make that 100k. I do understand that some countries like Canada, have some weather issues. Hard work, consistency and dedication my friend. And you will go very far. Problem with lot's of people is, that they wanne get rich quick. Rich quick formulas don't exist. Patience and believe 200% in yourself and your goals. Peace ✌️

we've reached the part of the online guru cycle where the people selling the lifestyle of being a pressure washer have moved on to "selling the shovels" - aka, they are selling people on how great being a pressure washer is, yet their business is in making a profit from youtube engagement and selling courses, or selling the chems & turn-key trailers as we see with this industry. In car detailing they start to sell courses & the chemicals. First big sign that the established players in before the big rush have come to realize the occupation is not as easy as before because its saturated, so they move to sell to their previous competition using their larger amount of experience & knowledge.

Remember to abidr by the Federal Clean Water Act which could land you a hefty fine and prison time. When doing driveways you must make sure no chemical water enters any drains/ditches. I see a lot of these guys risking their entire livlihoods with rivers of soap water flowing down the road.
