I spoke to a local pressure washer in my area (Everett, WA) yesterday and the guy was trying to tell me it took him 10 years just to start seeing the fruits of his labor and that I should maybe think about doing something else because of the amount of competition in my area. I share this because a big part of all this stuff is mindset. How bad do you want it, and also be careful who you get your advice from. For me, I dont give a damn how long it takes, I will build my business into a successful one, and Im willing to do all the hard stuff. I know it wont be easy, but nothing great usually does come easy. Be willing to put it all on the line to get what you want in life and don't ever let anyone tell you that something is too hard or that you shouldnt do it. Just put in the work and you will get results. And it may have taken that guy 10 yrs, but a lot of others have achieved success in a lot shorter time. Everybody's path and the amount of time it takes to success is different. Follow good hearted people with proven track records (like Austin) and again, put in the work, and you will achieve whatever it is you want to achieve.

This video is absolutely spot on. Almost 2 years in the industry and we're still using Lowe's $300-350 pressure washers, a $200 Reese cargo hitch carrier, a $100 16.5" Amazon surface cleaner. We also bought a BE 20" right away for full transparency (don't really recommend it though, expensive and looked absolutely terrible after the first year of barely using SH for the ground) rusted wheels, broken hand grips, etc. The worst decision but ended up being the best decision we made ( I figured it would work in our favor) is leasing a brand new work truck. Super expensive payments but Nissan had/has 18 months options. We had to owe $5,600 in taxes before inputting expenses. Dropped to $800 after the lease payments and other expenses. I'd rather drive a brand new truck for the year vs paying the government taxes. We still don't use hose reels, expensive pressure washing hoses ( we use pwaccs on Amazon. 50' don't buy the 100' too stiff and tangely), etc. Definitely don't quit your day job. My girlfriend and I still both work our day jobs.
