Starting an Etsy shop is something put off for a long time so this is just a kick in the pants to grab the 40 free listings and START.
You can always go back and edit, improve, and grow your Etsy shop. I have lots of videos to help with that process. But what you really need? Is to open up an Etsy shop fast TODAY and stop putting it off.

Starting an Etsy shop to earn more income is a great idea!
Etsy is a huge marketplace for sellers as you can sell both physical and digital products to a huge audience. If you want to start an Etsy shop then this tutorial for beginners will help you get started!
I know a lot of people can feel intimidated which is why I created this tutorial on how to set up an Etsy shop step by step. It is very easy and seeing someone else do it makes it feel much easier!
In order to start an Etsy shop you need the following:
- an idea of what you want to sell
- a name picked out for your new Etsy store (be flexible as many are taken)
- a credit or debit card to pay eventual listing fees
- your personal information about yourself and business
- product listing information (you need one listing but you can also just put in basics and edit it later!)

Etsy is a great platform for beginners because it is a marketplace - you already have access to buyers looking for items to buy. When you open a new shop on Etsy you instantly have the same access to all those buyers and don't have to drive traffic to your listing like you would on your own website.
This is why I like Etsy for beginners who want to sell items online.

ONE THING🤔that I can't stress enough & I need to repeat/elaborate what this smart female had mentioned early in this vid, and that is "THE KEYWORDS" that you use. I did not realize this simple "Rule" for a few years that just like Google- Etsy & Ebay etc, are all SEARCH ENGINE BASED! Meaning... Those first five words of your title page of what you are selling?🤔 Is very Crucial to your Business! You want people to land on & see your item(s)- So Just Be smart/Sensible & think about what Words those certain customers are going to type in to find that product that he/she is looking for.. and your ad will pop up! Easy Peasy. I am only sharing this because I honestly wish someone had told me about this back in 2016. Also, do yourself a favour & After you are comfortable with your new (or existing) store-purchase a keywords app as mentioned- most are reasonably Cheap & it's one of the best moves I made to help my businesses thrive...they are amazing! Thankyou - was having difficulty getting my parameters set up. When you upload your digital file to Etsy for "digital item for sale" do you upload all versions of the item - eg. aspect ratios - for different sized prints eg. 4 x 6 , 5 x 7 etc. So for a total of 5 files per item?

Hi, Theres so many hoops to jump. Business name, theres a name i have in mind that reflects me and my future store. Ive searched my chosen name on the Business Australia website to make sure that name isnt already taken and its not which is good. However, do i need to pay monthly to register my business name to start an etsy shop? I want to make things i was to make an etsy page and maje an email amd make it wonderful but - am i allowed to make an etsy shop with my chosen store name that i have not Registered with NSW or have an ABN? Im scared if i register it and everything that ill be locked in paying monthly for my business name yet not even getting any sales Do i need to open a New bank account in order to sell handmade items? Good video. I started an Etsy shop several years ago. Finally want to add a second product. You mentioned every single check off box that Etsy requires. Question: The customer is charged sales tax. Does Etsy pay the state sales tax that is charged to the customer? Or is the shop seller required to mail sales tax payments to every different state? Thanks.

Etsy collects and pays sales tax. Sellers do not have to handle it. That’s honestly one of the benefits of selling on Etsy!

You can skip that part but you should have an idea of what you’re going to sell before starting. There is very little point to opening the shop if you don’t have a product ready to sell.

They started implementing this fee after I made this video at the beginning of the year. It’s also not for all accounts just some as Etsy decides based on certain factors. Unfortunately you have to pay it or can’t open a shop.
