Good fundamental tips. Even after playing for several years, I like watching beginner videos now and then just to see what new tips & tricks I may pick up. So many different approaches to take for franchise! I really like how you don't assume the viewer will know how to do little things like connecting paths to buildings. I see so many new players get stuck on things that veteran players do without a second thought. Well done!

That game has a really great mechanic to build things, I wished Cities Skylines could do something like that, so you can can better parks, you could be able to make one from scratch, and make the cities a lot more alive.

This is so helpful!! I had no idea why certain animals generated more donations than others or how to get more conservation credits in franchise mode.

I always start with walk through exhibit animals, most often fruit bat's and flying fox. I set it to sell them when it reaches 10 males and 25 female. Stick in a couple of vending machines and let the game run for a bit. Super low cost to feed. Decent donations in the donation box for staring and you're all set!

So I discovered the reason why you were getting the error when trying to put the foxes in quarantine at the beginning. It wasn't that the path wasn't connected; it was. The issue that you run into that the game isn't very good at telling you is that your staff need to have been hired and available to actually transport the animals around the zoo. If they're still hanging in the air because the game's paused and you just hired them it'll give you the "not connected to path" error even when it really means that "nobody can move the animals to this space yet". What the error really means is that there's a pathing issue in getting the animal from A-B. The same thing happens if you were to try to put them directly into a habitat from the outset.

My question is why did you go with the turtles for CC? They take 25 years to mature and u cant sell the babies, so im wondering what your process was on deciding on those for CC generation?

The problem with Franchise mode (Sept 2023) is that nobody is selling animals. When I recently started there were 6 animals, 4 of one type and 2 of another. I gave up and went to Challenge mode so I could get animals.

I play Franchise mode exclusively and there are always hundreds of animals on the market, albeit some can be harder to find than others. Be sure you have all the filters turned off within the market.

i know im late, but.. youre so late if you want to make videos like.. "how to start franchise zoo" or something like that. bcause there are already lots of planet zoo beginner videos out there.. XD edit: i mean.. you can make some other tips like how to build habitat and stuff. or just show your build style. also. a big recommendation for me. learn how to build in GROUPS. because in group, you can easily build in grid. but dont make all your build in one group tho. make GROUPS.

Thanks, I researched this title before using it. I'm quite confident the video will do well over time. :-) As for groups, I do use them at times to get the setup I want. They are very useful indeed.

The game has changed quite a bit since release so all those old beginner videos get outdated on features and functions.
