I like to listen to soap operas or news in languages I am learning. Sometime I try to keep track of how many words I recognize as a test of progress.

Hard to watch through viet video contents when I don't really understand it. For me Listening to Viet Music helps more especially when I can listen to them the whole day and while doing other things. Only once i start to get a grasp of the language i start to watch the video contents

Hey Elena, much appreciated! I started studying seriously after my 3rd year living in Vietnam. Felt tired of not being able to understand or communicate with the people around me. Being here keeps me motivated to keep learning. Are you learning Vietnamese too?

@cartervsvietnam542 your links and descriptions of the books are wrong: Two links are identical; "Continuing Vietnamese" is not for beginners, it's for intermediates, "Elementary Vietnamese" is for beginners

Hey Oliver, guess that makes 2 of us. It's going really well. Hardest part is finding northern Vietnamese content I actually like to watch. Mind if I ask, are you living in Vietnam now?

@@olivereckert2492 Yea man, even southern Vietnamese has way more content. Pretty much every Vietnamese movie on Netflix is southern.

@@cartervsvietnam542 yea true. But honestly most Vietnamese shows are just really really bad no matter if north or south I hope they start copying for real soon from Korea and Japan 😂
