Hey, happy diwali! :) I've enrolled in GBC in Bim course for jan 2024 intake. I already have more than a couple of years experience in BIM industry both as a modeller and bim architect in India. I really want to know whether my Indian experience is considered after my pg there or should I again start from scratch (as in work as a BIM modeler).. please let me know

Your experience will have an impact in getting a job but you might still have to start from bottom as here the process is different but you can climb up quickly if you have experience and you prove it! Happy diwali and all the best!

Right now, Bim is the best option or anything that involves software or site work, they have a lot of technicians and designers here they need skill people in Bim and site works

I have done BE in mechanical engineering. I have 7 years experience in AutoCAD and solid works. But I think AutoCAD is not enough to make BIM of project. Because I m making all projects drawing eg. Civil Mechanical electrical . Now I want learn new software which can reduce manual work . Please suggest me the best software .

Every company ar somepoint will hire fresher. it's just a matter of applying to the right job, I would suggest applying to a junior position even if they mention 1 or 2 years of experience. I got my first job like that.

Hi from the Philippines. Ar. Singh, I have a B.S. Architecture degree and just passed the licensure examination this year (without post-licensure experience) and would like to come to Canada as an International Student,applications are ongoing for September 2024 intake and so for now I am gathering my requirements. I am looking for the right course that is a wise choice as a starter in Canada,BIM was my first choice before I did my research etc. I would like to ask for your advice on what do you think will help me best: 1. Master of Architecture 2. Building Information Modeling Management 3. Construction Management I am still developing my skillset especially in softwares, and I’m hoping to get the best option as a starter where it will be less difficult for me to study-work and that it will be less complicated/difficult to join the workforce after my studies. Yes, it is good to be a licensed Architect in Canada, but I am taking it one step at a time. I am still starting to build my career, developing skills, and finding opportunities. Thanks in advance!

I would say best option is to go for masters then start your registration journey, you will be hired fasters. If you dont get into masters BIM is th3 next b3st option but remember BIM will take your away from design part of architecture. You will be involved more in to technology side. Construction management is something I suggest to people with Construction experience or from civil background and with atleast 3 uears of experience in cpm.
