So if stay for 90 days on free visa, then go to Thailand, I can come back in a couple days? Or how long am I required to leave or stay out of Japan before returning for another 90 days? Also, I heard foreigners can buy a house there. If I buy one there, will they allow me to stay there for much longer? Thx.

Am I allowed to enter Japan again on November 2nd if I already got temporary stay permission for 90 days between May 4th 2023 and August 2nd 2023? I am from Romania. Romanian citizens are allowed to stay in Japan for a maximum of 90 days in a period of 6 months.

Question is, if you are about to stay in Japan for the full amount of 90 days or you not. What I found on the internet, which is the same for a lot of other countries: How long can a Romanian stay in Japan? Generally, tourist visas will stay valid for up to 90 days from the day you land in Japan. With that being said, you can go to Japan, stay there for a while, fly to another country for maybe a week and then return for a month longer or two, three. :) But as soon as you know you'd like to stay loooooooonger in Japan, apply for a working visa when you obtained a job, or do a working holiday year in Japan. ;)

Hi there! I'm currently not in Japan, but I have plans to return next year. :D I have been in Japan a bit more than 2 years, but took a break to be with family.

Hi! Planning on doing exactly this as I have a Japanese girlfriend I met during my visit to japan. How many times have you done this? I am worried about the authorities catching on to me "visa"hopping.

Maximum of 180 days per year. On the "visa free" tourist visa.

That's true, but you can also apply for extending your tourist visa. And if there is any chance to get married to your girlfriend, you can get a spouse visa which allows you to stay in Japan for good. But there are limitations to work as to what friends told me. In any way, if you can apply for a working holiday visa, that helps you a lot. :) Also, Japan has +30 different kinds of visas.

I have aquestion about leaving japan and comeing back for another 90 days. I have about amonth left and was going to to go korea for a couple days then come back, do i need to use an app to get through airport security anymore? Do i have to prove a return flight anywhere outside of japan? any advice would be much much appreciated!

As of what I know, you actually can do that. But it all depends on from where you're coming from and if you had to apply for a tourist visa in general. For those countries who don't need a visa to enter Japan as a tourist are open to come back after they left for a couple of days or a week. Friends of mine already did that and there shouldn't be a problem at all. 😊

@@SinaSofie Great thank you so much! I'm heading to Korea this week for 2 or 3 days then coming back to Japan. This is my first time every being in Japan and using a passport, so I hope they let me back in and i get another 90 days!

@@fluramba I just wanted to say with that, that it was difficult and different until the 8th of May to enter and leave Japan without the proper vaccines etc. :) Back in 2021in Japan, a friend of mine and colleague saw his family overseas, because he didn't see them for years. Back then it was the peak of Covid, and since he wasn't Japanese, he wasn't allowed to come back to Japan... So the company we worked for had to take care of his apartment, send everyone overseas to his family and so on. Therefore, these days the struggles are much less and soon everything is back to the time how it was before the pandemic. ;)

Hi, I went to Japan last year in November for 2 weeks but I plan to stay for 6 months this year in July cus I'm getting married, will it affect anything bad with the immigration cus I thought we can only stay in Japan for like 90 days a year

Hi :D Since it's July right now, I'm sure you will be in Japan at the time I write to you. The 90 days are supposed to be an "all at once stay". So if you go in and out of a country, they tend to reset the visa. But it's not always the case, so please be aware of it. :)

It depends on the country you're from. For most European citizens and some more countries, you don't really need to apply for a tourist visa, you just have one. :) If you're not sure, always call your embassy.

If you are a women it is easy just marry a Japanese guy. Not so easy if you are a family.
