I'm a writer and I use milanote to plan my stories, my boards actually do look like a wall of text but with arrows, and those arrows really do help me sort things out plus milanote also has a 'document' card where I can tuck paragraphs into so that my board isn't just full of story details, that's helpful as well :D You're a huge inspiration goodgis! I dream of working together with a group of passionate people like you do with Firith. Keep up the amazing work!

This looks insane to me. "I find kanban boards overwhelming" and then you show a different layout on every canvas and flyouts for all sorts of elements. I am really glad there are different tools for different brains. Glad you like this but it looks maybe better for a different kind of thinker than me.

This is a cool video. I was mostly looking to get an idea of what game development organization even looks like, since I’ve never done that or been involved in it. And it did give me a general feel. I wonder how many development teams would benefit from someone who could help organize the ideas and work as part of the team. I like things to be neat personally, and it was just something that popped in my head as I start learning game creation skills.

I wish Milanote would fuse with Whimsical. Milanote boards inside boards is just... fantastic, but it still has usability issues, like the need to click on "arrow" then selecting both ends. Whimsical makes this way easier but unfortunately, Whimsical doesn't have the board inside board approach, which is something that makes so much sense to me.

At least for how I do things, Kanban boards are good for visual projects but horrible for things which require tasks. Much like you do, I did spend about 1 month testing pretty much every task management tool on the market and ended up setting on Quire. And I did set up on it for one particular reason: every single task manager out there seems to always put recurring tasks behind paid plans while that feature is free on Quire.

I wonder about this software potentially having a trap in how much you can sink into making it “look nice” ultimately I respect that it’s all about conveying information and if pictures make it more efficient then great. My worry would be that at a certain point it’s just looking nicer than a Kanban board rather than actually executing the task better. If you read this, would love to read your thoughts about it

Perhaps you actually don't need it? The board should help you organize your game so if you find yourself working on your game without it just fine and having a hard time updating your board to reflect that, either you have another way of organizing your thoughts or you just don't need it.

I mostly use my boards a daily tasks. You can also make a board where it's a list of all the enemies, locations, or items. Then make a check list for each of them. The most important thing is to make it bite size chunks.

They are very different. Unity is a game engine and Milanote is a product organizer.

My favorite part has to be the fact that it automatically gives you an icon based on the name that you give to your boards

Only able to use 100 "notes" is a real downside and the price at 10 dollars a month (If you pre-pay) for a year is kind of expensive in my opinion. :c

Yeah, I felt the same way at first. I would be awesome to find an open source version down the road, but until then the is the best software that I could find.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the statement "Project organization is the worst part of developing a game" That is literally what I look forward to every time I make a game. It's a very satisfying procedure
