Great idea Marti! If you are going to paint the letter on use fabric paint as I've done here and if you heat set it with an iron it won't come off...

Hi, I love this, I have a thistle and rose intertwined as one end of a wedding sash(over the hand thing. I want the initials and date the other end, this idea would be perfect if I run out of time. Thanks for the inspirations.

I just got that off Microsoft Word Marta, type in the alphabet, pick your font and change to the size you want!

Hi Sarah! Was the letter “H” in the background screen printed onto the fabric? It didn’t seem embroidered because of how you were able to easily pass your needle through. Thanks!-Danielle

I painted it on with fabric paint Danielle; I printed the letter off from a word processor (just pick the font you like and make it bigger!), used the prick and pounce method to transfer the letter outline and just filled it in with Dylon fabric paint. This goes on very easily and being fabric paint is easy to stitch through.

The 'H' isn't stitched it is painted in Dylon fabric paint!

Sorry, but I got to ask one of these annoying "what are you using" questions.... In several of your videos I've seen you use the most beautiful painted work. Other than obvious talent, is there a particular brand or type of paints you use, or is it more a matter of having a quality fabric as a background?

Fabric paints work the best Just Mey! As with anything like this, practice on a spare piece of fabric first!
