Don't resist the trip. That is the most common cause of a bad trip. If you feel uncomfortable, relax and remember that the anxiety will pass. Then just let the trip take you where it wants to go.

When I tripped at my exes house(amazing location choice) for the first time I felt the overwhelming feeling of the come up. I ran to the other room hide from my friends because they looked scary. I was freaking out alone while our 2 trip sitters were having fun with the others. I felt like I was going insane, stuck in this crazy dimension and never coming back. Somehow after a while I stood up went to the window to have a look, I convinced myself that everything is ok. After I did that I went back to my friends and had loads of fun. I’m just sad that I had to do it all by my myself and no one helped me when I felt all alone.

Generally you can turn a bad trip into something positive but even if that's not possible for you in that moment Always go into it knowing your taking a drug and its not gonna last forever.

Having a bad trip is all in your mind, all you need to do is give in to the experience, stop resisting. You can trip anywhere and have a good experience, it's all about what you think, if you think your going to have a bad trip because your going to location A and you go to location a it's probably going to be uncomfortable yes, but if you just neglect that kind of thought and be open minded to everything you'll probably have a fine time, just give in to the experience and try not to have control. I've dropped acid many times as well as doing other psychedelics and I've never had a bad trip, I've dropped up to 1500 mics of acid or 15 standard tabs and had food poisoning at the same time and was throwing up but I still had a good experience.

My first real trip was 220ug of lsd. Wayyyyy too strong for a first time trip, never mind doing that much alone. It was basically me panicking for 7 hours until I calmed down. After that it was awesome, but those 7 hours were the closest I had come to killing myself (like for real, actual suicidal thoughts). Be careful doing it your first time. Have a trip sitter, have some benzos on hand, take a low dose your first time (like super low, start at 50ug for acid and go up slowly over time), have some music playlists that are nothing but happy, be ready to leave an environment and go somewhere else, drink water, make sure you have at least 36 hours where you have no obligations and for fuck's sake know what you are taking and what it does. Test it and have researched its effects.

That’s the equivalent to telling a person who is having an anxiety attack to calm down. Technically, no there aren’t any monsters who are going to hurt you. But you can’t actually get yourself out of a bad trip. You have to ride through it. If it was all in your head then I would have easily been able to get myself out of my bad trip. And I’ve done shrooms PLENTY of times. Then one time, I had a bad trip. Literally nothing I could do but ride it out and drink water. But no, you can’t just get out of it. I think it’s dumb when people say that.

I think the cause of a bad trip is basically just the worries in your life, at least for me it is. Like most people have something annoying/worrying going on in their life and when you're on LSD you kinda forget what that is exactly but you keep trying to remember what that bad feeling is, if you just forget it and say to yourself "I'm going to enjoy this trip and just have fun", trust me, you will have a fantastic time.

The first time I tripped on acid I was drunk and ended up taking 2 tabs one at 11pm and one at 3pm, i don't remember anything after around 1 o'clock and everything I do remember is very foggy and feels like a dream, i don't really remember what time I came too but it all went down hill when my friends started to pass out and once the last one went to sleep I started freaking out but I didn't want to wake them because I thought they would hurt me so I was alone with my thoughts, I spent the next two days without sleep and having a continuous panic attack i couldn't be alone and I was having trouble breathing. I slowly got better over the next week and a half but I still was having trouble sleeping. I wasn't really back to normal until like 2 weeks after and Keep In mind I've never had any anxiety issues in my life. Never did it again and never will. If you read all this shout out to you your a real ass nigga

How to stop a bad trip? Just go with it. No matter how scary, just go with it. It will pass and you may even start to enjoy the experience. There is always something to learn if you pay attention and drop the fear. Fighting the experience is always a bad thing.

I remember a few months ago i tripped with this one guy, and i was feeling anxious already for some reason, but was still chillin until some family situation happened while i was tripping, i came back in the room just trying to explain how this was effecting me and how i didnt wanna be here anymore and i couldnt quite get my words across very well because i was tripping pretty hard on a tab and a half tab as well. In another time i tripped with him, this time he was having a bad time and as soon as he communicated that with me that he wanted to leave, i said yea lets get out of here and did what i could to help. But when it was me who was needing help it seemed like this guy just had not even a clue of what to do. Honestly a very frustrating experience trying to communicate my feelings and being so overwhelmed on these tabs and he just had absolutely no idea lmao. Idk i guess what do i expect

Last weekend I had a bad trip I was about 2-3 hours in and went out to the garage to smoke a cigarette. It was just way to quiet and I got stuck staring at myself in the window and I seen horns coming outta my head and my face started to melt and looked like I was burning alive. Once I left the garage everything looked scary like a silent hill game/movie. Everything was dark and dirty and I kept seeing demons or like devil dogs..the sounds we’re really eerie and I heard growling and scratching and knocks everywhere. Kept hearing voices saying “over here or can yo find me” but all you gotta do is get thru it. I will still trip and is still my favorite drug

When I’m having a bad trip, I grab a blanket, put on a movie and get snug. Take a couple bong rips in between and I also close my eyes and meditate to the closed eyes visuals

I don’t do acid a lot but when I do it’s always in a good area surrounded by good people so I haven’t had a bad trip yet. But when it comes to weed, I smoke it everyday everywhere. So When it comes to how your brain has a bad trip, I’ll do my best to explain. You always visualize every single bad thing that could happen and your heart starts beating really hard. The best thing to do when your having a “bad trip” is to figure out what is bugging you (maybe it’s that your scared because you keep hearing noises and shit, if so, turn on the tv so you don’t hear those noises) and then overcome that fear, and then you won’t be tweaking anymore. My room at night used to be a bad place for me to smoke blunts because it’s dark and it’s in the hood and shit. Nowadays, it’s my favorite place. I used to get freaked out and didn’t want to smoke more after a blunt or two. Nowadays I always keep a blunt lit and hit it consistently. When it goes out, I light up another one. To take something out of this, just always remember your bad trip is because of a thought that you normally don’t think about but the substance you are on is highlighting it. I actually have started to enjoy the weed paranoia sometimes because it reminds me of the old times where I would smoke in the room next to my parents while they were asleep and try to be quiet.

This is very good advice. Yeah your mind is very suggestible on acid and you can focus on certain things so damn hard and it can spiral like you said. That's some true shit about smoking on a trip, I ended up extending my bad trip by about 4+ hours by constantly smoking bud trying to mellow out lol.

i tripped a few times but the last time was so uncomfortable, i just keep getting too warm taking off clothes then getting cold and sweating so i layed in bed playing stardew for like 8 hours LOL

Best advice is focusing on your breathing. This by far is the most important thing. Most bad trips are caused from panic attacks, and anxiety. What I do is just lay down flat somewhere, anywhere it doesn't matter what people are thinking. The first thing to do is first off realize that it's the drug causing the problem, and that you're not going crazy. I know, easier said than done. But this worked for me. Next breathe deeply in through your nose. Make sure that when you inhale it's going into your stomach. Next exhale slowly through your mouth. Do this for about 5 minutes. What you're actually doing is slowing down your heartbeat, which is easing your anxiety. Because during a panic attack you literally feel like you're having a heart attack. Plus you're allowing more oxygen to the brain. Very interesting subject to study about anxiety disorder.

First time I tried and maybe for a few months after, I did it entirely alone in the middle of the night. It was great. They say not to do it alone but even with weed, I'd prefer and even get higher alone. Might be introversion, or just a never being around people I wanted to be high with, they always kinda ruin it.

I don’t know if anybody shares this experience but about 6 months ago I had a horrific trip I had taken LSD 2 times before this instance and I didn’t have any face melting or scared of dying feeling. Imo my experience was much more terrifying... the voice in my head started talking in different voices and when I spoke it was in different peoples voices the scariest thing is I saw as my personality and all my memories were on a bubble and floated away for me to live the rest of my life in an empty husk of a body and not remember much. And for about 24 hours I struggled to recollect my life in general. I took two double sided tabs and faced 3 blunts. Still the most terrifying experience on any type of drug

Every time i did L i was alone. I was hinting towards a bad trip as a feeling of extreme terror and anxiety crept up on me, but i got rid of it but letting go and listenin to chill music on my phone.
