Yeah, it's a pain indeed. Especially if the scene is panning fast with half'n'half scenery and blue skies in the background. The trick is to use a very small area of the screen to calculate the stabilization for those cases (0.200 width and 0.100 height as input frame for the more extreme cases) 😄

@@RCTommy As I'm using Davinci Resolve I've ended up going another route. Instead of using 'default stab options' I go full-fledged with object-tracking features and use masks to select the jets manually. It's quite a lot of work but the results have no equal. Still need to make manual transitions when planes move from clear sky to scenery background though. :'(

@@RC4ever, I use that technique too from time to time. Have to combine and manually crop the transition frames between the different methods. But this approach was a game changer for me. Same (or some times better) results, yet a lot less time for me. But hey, I enjoy the work. It's super pleasing to turn unstable footage into a piece of work like this. People think it's the camera that does all the work... But oh boy, they should really try reproducing these videos without using post processing software. Impossibruuuh🤣

@@janmb I know, I know... :p Bet you'll be doing greasers in no time! Maybe could do with some help from crow mixing and the likes to force a bit more drag after touchdown?

@@RC4ever Way ahead of you - added both crow and more flap deflection before flight #2 :D Then again, while adding more drag and washout certainly makes sense anyway, the main issue there was the pilot's willingness to get rid of enough energy. Also feels really nosey as you let speed drop, so need to sort the cg before we get any really slow landings.

What is your fuel system setup?

Pretty straight forward - 1.3L CM Jets tank, Intairco mini airtrap, pump, engine. Nothing special about it at all. The tank will be replaced by a new one with custom design though. 1.3L is way overkill for an X45 anyway, and since the true cg is a fair bit further aft than factory likes to claim, the tank also produces far more cg shift than I like. Therefore, I'm producing a ~1 liter tank that goes between the spars directly aft of the wing tube as well as over it

@@janmb I recall an issue with some mini traps when a hole was not plugged allowing it to pickup air. I read it on a dutch forum i think. You might want to check the trap carefully.

@@HermanKruisman Yeah I'm aware of the issue you are referring to. That was an issue with the previous edition of the air trap I'm using (not that I ever experienced that problem with the old one I had before either) In this case, I'm pretty sure I have control on what was the root cause and have no concerns going forward.
