How to stop rust on your plow truck!

Don't let your snowplow or salt truck rot out, become rusty and lose value. It is a misconception that all plow trucks will rust out in no time. Follow these steps to save your vehicle! Snow plowing can be hard on the truck, why not do what you can to save it?

As I live in the U.K. I will never meet him despite holidaying in the USA - Florida is our normal port of call. this ia a bit of a test Ryan. I have commented on your original Victory channel numerous times with what i considered sort of funny observations. you have responded a few times and i appreciate that because for you to comment on any small percentage requires a good amount of your time. i just enjoy watching your trials and tribulations that you encounter at work but mostly when you show some of your home / personal tasks that you have to do. like the eaves trough cleaning you did and had little trees growing in them. i thought of my old next door neighbor in Massach that was (and still is) my best friend for 40 years. He owned a concrete form business with about 4-12 employees through the 80s, 90s and then some. i see a lot of similarities between you and him and one of the reasons i watch your channel. he did things very much the same as you and we thought it was funny. and i am not being critical or mean but he never really finished anything when it came to his house chores and this got our wives to chatting about their husbands as to whose was "the laziest" lol, and they wouldn't defend their own, they would beat us up! i laughed when i saw you were going to wash your truck in your driveway that it looked like you had plowed in about three minutes ha. and the ice that would inevitably form in it after. and the hoses all snaked up under 2 foot of snow still with ice in them. i had a Tool truck business sort of like Brandon and a plow truck that i did residential driveways. my driveway was 25 wide and 100 feet long and the cleanest of snow and ice on the street. if schools had a snow day i wouldn't work the tool truck, i would take the kids and do driveways. my test is this. i am not sure if there is such a thing as shadow banning, but i never would receive any replies from your other 105k subscribers , other than a couple from you. so i will hopefully get someone that wants to banter with me over these horrible observations. joking. keep up the good work

Hey brother, your observations are spot on! I do try to read through as many comments as possible but it has become an impossible task. In one way I feel like I am disappointing people if I don't reply but in another sense I believe that most people understand to a degree that it is impossible to reply as a channel gets to a certain size. I really do the best I can but with all I have going its really tough. I never want to disconnect from the people that watch! Thank you for watching!

These videos of doing maintenance feel like I'm watching a Andrew Camarata video. The only thing I would recommend doing is uploading in 4K 24fps. Alot of people these days have 4k TV's and monitors, plus 20 years from now everything will be 4K so it's like future proofing these videos. Other then that keep these types of videos coming and before you know it this channel will be just as big as the main channel

Yes and no, here in canada don't think about washing the underneath when it -10C from december(ok not this year...) to march, so washing it and not let it dry enought before it freeze is worst. Like you we would need to keep the hose inside to even get water to wash it... we use oil undercoating to protect the steel from rusting but not every shop that do it, do it right! every oil are different some are more liquid some and more hard and tend to crack on cold temp. I do the undercoating myself it's dirty for sure but way better done than a shop that do it in less than a hour. The first shot is important and need to be done asap after leaving the dealer floor because it need to be apply everywhere floor, wheelwell, frame rails, in between sheet metal, rockers, beds, etc and let it seep during summer then reapply in autumn in more critical areas that a prone to water spray. after that every year in the critical areas and every 5-7 years in less critical ones. I also wash the underneath when the temps are above freezing at night with a tool that ryobi make, like a water broom, it meant to be put at a pressure washer and like you I move around until it's clear. also avoid staying too long around diff/transfercase and there vent to avoid water getting in and damaging seal from the pressure. Also I try to clearcoat(2K not the one in can) as much has I can from suspension parts to floor to prevent rust and it hold up really well! Have you ever see rust forming on clearcoated panel? never you see the paint bubbling because the rust started on the other side or because of rockchip. Car/truck manufacturer just leave hidden panel in primer with no protection, suspension part are just cheap paint that peal of in one winter. In 2019 I rebuild my rear suspension, put all new arms and bushings they still didnt rust where they have been cleared and they doesnt have oil undercoating either... Cities need to stop using salt and use beet juice instead! and help the environment as well...

You'll have to build yourself some type of small wagon of some sort. So that u won't have to make so many trip's back an forth. Plus it would make a great video for us all to watch. It can't be that hard.

I recently bought a 2001 chevy 2500hd with a western plow. The adapter has rust and some holes near the hitch is at. Will this be a problem?

haha. I was watching the video and kept thinking to myself that there's no way you're not using Fluid Film or something like that. No way that old Ford would have held up the way it did without it. It's amazing stuff and it's relatively cheap. As someone who had to replace a rusted out subframe on his car, trust me, y'all don't want that problem.

From being down south, i always wondered how some trucks from up north don’t get rusty, always thought u had to put special coatings and stuff every year. Turns out you just have to wash it, who knew! Also, why don’t you use a pressure washer, i know you have one for the concrete jobs.

I've had 3 yards of salt freeze up in the salter. IT SUCKED chiseling it out and 3 hours at least. Also realized if you wet it it'll help loosen it
