Globalist markets - Good idea in principal but then the smaller countries have all their businesses bought out and run in other countries that treat it like they should be the only ones making money. Hollows out smaller countries and leaves problems in other areas like taxation. High street dying? Global market but super limited taxes on online stores. Screw your local companies and jobs, the left had years to fix it but they just don't. Immigration - over abundance of illegal migrants? Why not make a bunch of out of date laws that make it incredibly difficult to deport them and have courts wasting billions of our money arguing back and forth on whether we treat them with enough care when they came to the country illegally. Human rights obsessives abusing the system to waste tax payers time and money as long as it keeps the lawyers going. Big waste of money and human rights should be respected but the courts should have the ability to throw out cases that are unreasonable or not going to advance anything. The left had years to fix it but they just don't. Social protections - Men constantly ignored, only 'racism' matters and only works one way, womens safe spaces being eroded with trans ideology. This fits in with the way they handle crimes as well, soft policing and poor protections. I typically am happy to lean anywhere from centre left to centre right depending on how well the policies are done but at the moment it's the lefts policies that need correcting. Courts too soft and lenient on the criminals side, illegal migration a never ending quagmire of public finance problems. If the left could just get a damn grip on reality and respect all people in a colour blind manner and sex blind manner that would be better than identity politics and soft policing. One minute they say they care about crime the next they're reeling at the suggestion that stop and search is 'discrimanatory' so they just stop trying again.

This is equally as unhelpful - you can't just categorise an entire side as having 'the' common sense. Tbh, I feel like common sense is kind of a misnomer. Some people would say having a more progressive tax system/taxing capital gains at the same level as income tax is common sense, but others would disagree. So... is it common sense? x]

Fascinating. My story is very similar. I voted Labor for 30 years and only voted Conservative for the first time at the last election. I think the left has just lost their way completely and has drifted into the moral abyss. The crazy woke stuff has just gone way too far. I think our stories about political allegiances changing in this way is now commonplace.
