Very informative video, I had this issue with my old bmw e46 very easy to fix because the lenses come off so easily (clips ) my ford falcon however is a different matter , first thing is you need to remove front bumper/ apron to remove headlamps , I managed a temp fix by blowing inside with air to clean best I could then left off rubber shroud so it would breath easier, wonder if the vents were blocked ?/ enjoy your videos thanks

Just want to say thanks for all the great videos. Congratulations on reaching 100k, hopefully you’ll be hitting 250k in no time. In the north of England we don’t get too much sun, but it’s always raining! Having a old car and all, there’s rust patches. So, I wanna leave a suggestion of doing a video on how to remove rust on body panels, filling sanding and painting. I know there’s lots of videos on KZfaq of other channels doing it but tbh I trust the videos here the most. Evening is honest and cost effective! So yeah, I would really appreciate it if you could, Thank you.

I will definitely try the Mothers, already have it. But I only used it for wheels lol. I been sanding these really bad ones starting at 180 and going up to 2000, then polishing compound, and finally waxing. That is my full proof way and has always turned out perfect. But labor intensive. I don't see how just the Mothers can fix these I get with the clear coat peeling etc but I am going to give it a try and hopefully save some time. In the detailing world that's what it's all about, time. Thanks for sharing

The cause of this is twofold: hurried manufacturing processes, and the cycles of heating & cooling create a vacuum in the case, that draws in humidity (overnight dew, rain). The "pressure equalizer vents" only make it worse. Traffic atmosphere is filthy- exhaust gasses, washer fluid mist, ice melting chemicals mixed with water, aerosolized by tires, equals another awesome SPC video.

Extra credit for the Apple Polishers like me- If the chromed plastic reflector is hazed because of polluted water- Mothers and a soft cloth will clean most of that off too. If it's really FUBAR you can always clean it with isopropyl, then shoot it with light coats of your choice of "chrome" spray paint, and that can be buff polished like any other paint when dry & hardened properly.

It's a good video overall, plenty of useful tips. I'm curious if dumping rubbing alcohol in a headlamp assembly would remove the chrome paint for the reflector dish? Also, if the chrome paint has come off, what would you suggest to restore it? I ask that last part because I had a brand new headlamp assembly in a bench in my garage. I peeled off the paper that protects the bulb holes, but I didn't add bulbs. The ambient moisture in the garage caused fog in it, and when I dumped it out, most of the chrome paint fell right out too.
@SweetProjectCars
@SweetProjectCars 6 жыл бұрын
the alcohol does not hurt the light whatsoever you put it in and slosh it around and dump it out... thank you very much, we truly appreciate that and are very glad you are here with us :) as far as the chrome paint you can clean it with rubbing alcohol and then use a plastic chrome paint and then clear it with a good clear coat.

I can see where this would work for just about anybody. However, I have a 2011 Chrysler Towne & Country with just 1 headlight ass'y which is doing this - every winter - drivers side. In order to remove the headlight ass'y the front bumper must come off. So I will just live with it - for now. If I could remove the headlight ass'y easily, I'd do this in a heartbeat! So if you know of a quick way to remove this headlight ass'y., I'd sure like to know. Love your channel and all fhe tips you provide to all of us. Keep up the good work.

I "wish" my headlights came off that easy. I really don't want to have to "have to" remove all of the front fascia just to get them off. Are you sure I couldn't bring the town & country up to you (Mike) and have you do the job? I need to do a road trip and get away from the house for a few days! You may want to add a comment somewhere that you should NEVER attempt to wipe or clean the chrome reflector. That chrome coating is VERY finicky and wipes right off. I messed up 2 fog light lenses so that's my experience

tahiR, if they steam up, you probably have a pinhole leak somewhere. That is, unless they 'steamed up' straight from the dealership when it was spanking brand new.
@SweetProjectCars

tahiR there is moisture getting on somehow, you need to seal them up like in the video without taking the lens off and see if that helps thank you very much we truly appreciate that and are very glad you are here with us :)

A super duper video, once again!! Congratulations 🎉! I have moist in one headlight and also in two back lights (20 yr old car).Just wondering whether disengaging the headlight will be problematic (it’s a fiat barchetta, scared to ruin something!) THANK YOU, you’re brilliant

You can pull the bulbs out spray in some rubbing alcohol let them air dry and put the bulbs back in but I’m sure it will continue to do that until you split the headlights a part

@@SweetProjectCars Still have my old request: wish you could show us what you would do to mend plastic bumper cracks, the usual nice present from fellow parking experts! Would you prefer using the mesh and bi component glue after tunneling the crack from the inside, soldering the plastic with mesh or the drilled hole system? I'm for a simple method because bumpers are always cracked again when you live in a big city. And I certainly wouldn't spend the money for a new bumper. Please, please, please...!

Sweet Project Cars bro I did a lil test ok let me explain I put water droplets on the outside, and right under the water droplet inside my headlight moisture starts occurring. Note I’m not even wetting the whole headlight just a couple of drops that doesn’t slide off. So it’s not even close to the factory headlight glue so what is happpening? It’s not happening to the other side
