Guys another tip on jewelry.. if you want to buy a legit gold Cuban, buy it down south.. it’ll be cheaper than up north per gram. Example 10kt gold in Florida is sold for about 32-34 a gram and up north it’s sold upwards $40+.

Thanks for the video but all jewelry no matter what it's made out of from beads on a string to solid gold is (real) jewelry. I hate when people refer to jewelry that's gold plated as fake jewelry. It is not. If you're wearing a 14k gold plated vermeil piece it's not fake. It's actual jewelry that happens to have a layer of (real) gold over another metal. Now if you refferd to that same piece as solid gold then it's just a lie. Still not (fake)

Really great video. Buying my first plated jewelry and this is all common sense stuff that never crossed my mind. This kind of thoughtful maintenance is why some people get 200k miles out of their cars and others can't seem to go a month or two without problems. Can you share any Amazon links?

Thx man I only own 1 real 14k gold chain and a pendant cost me 2grand and I want more pieces but I don't want to spend more like if I was rich. So ima just buy gold plated but I also don't want trash. I want high quality gold plated so gonna take a look at your websites you recommend. Once I'm rich I'll buy real gold again. Why get a white gold plated jesus cuban link necklace? Instead spend that money on the same looking kind of necklace you can always wear thats solid sterling silver. Cuz then you won't have to worry about plating coming off.

Gold plated silver is not fake jewelry yeah it’s gon tarnish but tht jus means tht it’s oxidized (which is what silver does) but if you do the simple cleaning methods an use a jewelry cloth all of tht tarnish/oxidation will be removed

Whats your opinion on soaking gold plated jewelry in water and dish soap, baking soda, salt etc to clean it ? I've seen a lot of videos recommending these methods.

If it's for a short period of time, it may be ok. I would say no more than 2 minutes.

I personally wouldn’t do it. That method is for silver jewelry. Gold plating can come off super easy, and baking soda is abrasive. A quick soak in warm water with Dawn dish soap and then gently cleaning with soft tooth brush works most of the time. With gold plated I personally never use water unless it’s a damp microfiber cloth to remove a smudge. If ya use water, just be sure to wrap your piece in a dish towel to get it dry asap, without air exposure while its drying.

i just get the cheapest spray painted shit and re buy cause i dont really know whose expensive plate shit is good and whose isnt, craftd take 2 dollar wish pendants and sell them for 160 and i see reviews saying it faded in 4 days etc and i cant do that i buy that much jewelry that if it was that expensive i would be broke, you would think in 2022 you would be able to buy jewelry that doesnt go crap without having to spend 500,000 on 1 chain..
