I like to use a piece of cloth (sometimes I put a sock over my hand if I have a lot of wire to straighten) and then work it through with the cloth or sock over my fingers which saves the fingerprints on my thumbs and fingers :) thanks for the video!

Thanks much for the tips. Love that roller gizmo and put it on my shopping list. I had been pulling the nylon pliers away from me along the wire as shown in other videos but it never gets the curve out. Never thought to pull the wire back instead so thanks for that as well :-)

What about spinning it in a drill while holding the other end tight with a pair of pliers. When I used to make coils for vaping this was how we straightened our wire. This was of course using Stainless Steel or Nichrome. Since we are talking Silver or copper, would this process of spinning and stretching not work? Will it break the wire?

may i ask where you buy your reels of wire?

My favourite way to straighten wire is to use a jewellery cleaning cloth and the nylon jaw pliers for the more kinked up wire.

Not to be sexist but after watching 5 videos (all male made not that I'm judging) I learnt more from yours then all other combined. Gotta admit though I giggled straight away at [0:02] at "straighten your wire", I'm so childish sometimes. Then you hit us with the "hand preference" [0:16] & [0:38]. Now your on about length you and "keeping it on the real" [1:43]. After watching the entire video I'm convinced you were half aware of all of your double entendres [2:46] [2:52] 5:43] [∞]. But seriously thanks for sharing your knowledge I'm watching a bunch of vids for learning a bunch of techniques for unkinking my little wire and my bigger pretty thick gauge I use in the garden a lot and this is the first time i've ever heard of this little straightening roller device. I might even be able to jerry rig something like that without much trouble. Your point also regarding the heavy effect ambient and material temp has on malleability this is something I realize I rarely consider for example half hour ago getting frustrated trying to work with wire out back *in the shade on a cold spring afternoon when I shoulda been doing it in a warmer work area. Using just our hand is harsh too rough using a paper towel or cloth is safer and easy
