Man that is quite the process. Looks pretty effective but scares the bejeezus out of me. I feel this process would take even longer than reading the bloody book 😊. Might give it a try on an omni I’m not in love with though, so thanks for sharing!

I adapted your method a bit, I replaced the more aggressive steps by putting my finger inside the eye (both sides) and then just lift the book, the weight of the pages then make the stretching and I repeat on 5 or 6 page proportions (so not just in the middle). I did this to alleviate the stress on the pages and redirected it to the glue itself.

Found this through your flashpoint omnibus video and did did this today to my GL by Geoff Johns Omnis and they’re so much better now! Thanks again for the tutorial!

This seems really high maintenance. :) But I'm halfway through JSA omni vol 1 and the massive gutter loss is driving me insane so I'm ready to put in the effort. I normally read Marvel omnis and never have this problem.

Thank you. Yes, that step number 3is scary, and probably people should be warned that doing that the pages and stitches might pop and break. It's a gamble. With me it has worked, no problem. But people have to be careful.

I do something super similar to this, and it seems to help. The only detail I add it I pick the pages where I apply pressure based on where the bunches are sewn together and you can see the sewn loops. That seems to help my tight books and hasn't hurt any yet. Or doesn't seem to haha

When I stretch my books out I just run my finger along the seam gently twice as I drop the pages on each side. Then I just open it and turn it a few pages at a time as if Im reading it and run my finger along the seam again. It works pretty well and the eye is slightly less well defined as yours but it doesn't scare the hell out of me like some of these steps do.

You also have to sing it during stretching
