I’m the same way. I started straight razor shaving about six years ago now I have the strap the rocks. Be ext.. I believe this interest us because you cannot rush. No one can rush you and you have time for yourself.

I have a cheap simple strop that doesn’t have a canvas side, just a back side of the leather. Is that ok to put polishing compounds on or is it time for me to upgrade to a real strop?

Are you lightly torquing the razor so the cutting edge touches the strop or just doing your best to keep it flat on the strop?

Nice work, Geo👍 I have special Japanese razor for shaving ear holes. It's pretty small size but I always use the same type strap. When I finish to glind the edge of it, those kind of strap make the edge perfect.
