can you use a long board to spread the pressure across many parts to reduce the chance of breaking anything?

@tonybeop yes,but I would get a piece of wood that's flat and a bit thicker. A long board may snap and definitely will have an imprint from the jack. Also with a long board it may be too wide and the ends being angled could also make it more difficult. Whatever you are jacking up, and where it is within the space of the engine bay will show you what type of board to use.

@@jamesolelo4406 cool Im going to try to support the engine on my Toyota matrix. I got a decently thick wood plank decently long sturdy enough I think. Honestly I don’t really know where Im supposed to place the board but I’m just going to place it under the oil pan which I’m 80% sure I know where that is and let the rest of the board support what ever it comes in contact with. Iv seen other videos where they straight up slightly jack the oil pan itself which in my experience of all the youtube videos I have watched is a big no no but yet again we are only supporting the engine not jacking it. But I have no idea how much weight an oil pan can take as I thought it to be a fairly fragile component but apparently it can withstand a decent enough pressure while the other engine mounts help it out. So Im just gonna pray the wood spreads that load out even more. And hope i can manage to replace the mounts them selves with tools that have been sitting alone for years lol. Its my first ever car 2007 matrix has a decent amount of problems but it seems that most I am capable of fixing. Just one P0420 code bad catalytic convertor unfortunately seems to be the biggest problem that might be pricey I think.

@@tonybeop yes. Put it under the oil pan. That's why I said you have to check with your car. May be some stuff kinda in the way sometimes
