This is why boxing is the #1 self-defense art. Not because it teaches you how to knuckle, but because it teaches the #1 fighting skill above and beyond all others combined - how to take a beating. Because there *is* a beating out there with your name on it and you have no idea whos holding it, until they hand it to you.

Not just boxing though. You better know how to at least defend against grappling and related ground game too. It’s great to know how to throw and take punches, footwork being probably the most important aspect in a lot of settings too, but the folks who can wrestle, box and throw nasty kicks/elbows will find themselves on solid ground more often than not…. Until weapons are in the mix, in which case even Jon Bones Jones can’t defend against sharp objects wielded by sociopaths aiming to kill and not just hurt 🤷‍♂️.

JD, I'd like to thank you. You have no clue how much you've helped me! I am the only member of my family to graduate college, only one who had a white-collar career, and, now, the only convicted felon. Having no misdemeanors (barely any traffic violations), I went down for grand theft/credit card fraud. I was placed on probation with adjudication withheld and ultimately violated. I was senteced to 30 months (13 months time-served), did 8 months behind the fence, and the rest at work release. In my situation (NWFRC), my bid was relatively easy; forgiving myself and not feeling permanently "jaded" was and is the hardest part! Career gone, becoming what Ionce discriminated against, and the shame (none of my people treat me differently, it's ALL me!). But, YOU, sir, have helped me embrace what can't be erased and actually LIVE! No mourning! LIFE is only beginning! Love and respect from Suwannee County, bro! Keep the message coming!

I feel like a lot of this "fear of fighting" stuff is generational. Was reading that the number of kids/teens that have been in a fight has been going down since like the 90s. Anybody who's been in a handful of fights loses that fear real quick, they win a few, lose a few and discover that it's not the end of the world. My circle used to fight for fun and had been doing it forever. By middle school we all had a little fight club where everyone would meet at a certain location, bets were occasionally made, people with some skill might try a 2v1... It was just what we did after school and all summer, even the women would get down occasionally. By the time anybody from that group started getting locked up, throwing hands was nothing, was just how conflicts got solved or even something to pass the time.
@JdDelay5150
@JdDelay5150 9 ай бұрын
Honestly, I see fear of fighting to be a good thing if people can resolve things peacefully instead. The problem is when the new generation start bringing guns out because they’re too pussy to swing their fists.

@@JdDelay5150 💯 As far as self preservation goes, it's an extremely good thing and should be a last resort if it's not just for fun ie boxing/MMA. The fact firearms are used like fists used to be is disgusting, I've got all my rights and I pray that I never have to use that type of force! I guess the people I was around or that I had beef with must have just had value for human life, being a coward was considered jumping someone with a crew, not ending them, that's one act you can't ever make right. Outside of self defense and a few other circumstances, it's just evil.

@@Blunt_Man IDK man kids and teens especially in groups take that shit way way too far. I can name two incidents of people I knew (not well, knew of) personally as a kid who died from horsing around. Dont get me wrong, I absolutely got into fights though I suck at it, because I literally had no choice in the shit lifestyle I was living. That said that game boys play trading punches to the chest - kid down the street died from that in 95. In 01 a junior in another high school was in a fight and just fell wrong. Whacked his head, never woke up. I wasnt there for the second one, and tbh I think dudes may have taken the boots to him and lied about it. I do agree having a son this helicopter parenting shit has gone way too far, and yes life is just risks. To be clear Im not saying no horseplay; I just think organized fight clubs of kids will end badly. Plus we already have those, theyre called gangs lol
@Blunt_Man
@Blunt_Man 9 ай бұрын
@@jefclark Guess it just depends on the group. The little fight Club from my teens had rules, it was still without a doubt dangerous but dangerous within reason ie people weren't kicking people while they were down or anything like that, it wasn't about hurting someone beyond recognition. Rules are exactly what separated that from a gang, that and they weren't searching out for other groups to fight, it was a friendly thing to let off some steam. I'm not going to say that it was perfect, anybody who had to read "Lord of the flies" in school knows children/teens aren't very good at making a society lol, they're a lot more brutal and they lack the ability to think long term. It was the suburbs about 20 years ago so the mentality was just different than today, I'm not going to say that some actual criminals weren't around because they were, I had a gun pointed at my head for the first time at 14 and the person pointing it was with his family who basically were a gang. The friends I was around didn't like that "gangsta" stuff where weapons were normal and there was no such thing as a fair fight, those were the teens causing the real problems and a lot are now in prison as adults.
@Blunt_Man
@Blunt_Man 9 ай бұрын
@@jefclark It's like anything with risks such as skateboarding, BMX, football, boxing, wrestling, etc. I wouldn't want any kid of mine getting into fights, organized or not and I'd be hesitant to let them get a bmx and hit 2-3 foot jumps too. As much as I don't like it, I accept that type of adrenalin seeking behavior is just what boys do and I'd hope that I raised them to use as many precautions as possible and not be the kids breaking their neck trying to do a backflip on a bike or have it broken by someone who turned a friendly 30 second MMA match into something personal, let alone be the one who went too far. Maybe things have just changed, I could fight my friends and even when I was mad, I didn't want them to get hurt hurt. That same attitude was mutual and most I saw in the fight club was black eyes and bloody lips/noses. The fights where people really got hurt were people who I didn't really hang around with and they were the type that didn't have a problem giving someone serious brain damage or stabbing them over an argument. I just never got that mad, half my friend group was on juvenile probation, frequently were in and out of juvenile detention and I understood that those types of actions had serious consequences. To clarify, I'm not necessarily trying to completely defend it, it was definitely dangerous and just as importantly, it was illegal. It's just all about having the proper balance. I don't think there's anything wrong with 2 teens slugging it out to settle a dispute or just for sport but if they're trying to put each other in the hospital, they're just as much in the wrong as the youth today in cities like Chicago shooting at other teens who called them a name. Fighting should be able to be used to solve problems without people being so afraid of losing that they'd rather do something that might land them in prison as an adult or at the least, doing time until they're 18-25 (whatever the juvenile limit is).

i been digging the real/truth vibe this channel gives. you brought back a lot of memories of when my pops was in prison for his 2 of 4 federal crimes, so he has spent like 20% of my life in federal prison. ive had lots of family do time, from county to fed and everything in between. Jesup, Tallahassee, Williamsburg... but of course with a stop in kansas city between each location. maybe youve had a little diesel therapy in the past... shackles in a white van with 8 guys for 12 hours at a time, awesome family memories. these are what my family vacations looked like.. we would leave at like 3AM fom Jacksonville for a 3 hour drive to tallahasse for what i thought was a summer camp: Eglin AFB. at that age, i thought my dad worked on planes and tractors... but he was just the guy that cut the fields of grass at the weapons testing grounds from the prison.. but i digress. i just wanted to say thanks for the stories and the channel. i been binge watching and it has made me smile about some of the time he spent locked up. it was bad for him, but it was some of my earliest memories of him and there was a park in eglin and we would play on the swings.. i was like 1-6 years old when he was at eglin but never understood. jesus, i didnt mean to go all feelings and shit, but i did. youre a good guy and a great story teller and i wish you the best. my pops has been out since 2005 and luckily he is 78 years old so he has chilled out some since the cocaine 80s lolz. thanks for letting me share!

@@40vtrOh sweetie.. First of all, opiates ingested orally have not only poor absorption rate, but they also take much , much longer to act. The thinking that you touch fentanyl and die is a myth perpetrated by idiots thinking it will scare people off. Third of all, nobody is giving anyone free drugs in prison nor conduct a hit by attempting to poison someone with drugs. It's just... Highly, highly unlikely unless your son was a figure like Epstein someone powerful would have reasons to want to silence. He likely was withdrawing, bought drugs to get well and overdosed. It shouldn't have happened, opiate overdose isn't instant death even if the person stops breathing instantly after shooting up. There absolutely is time to save someone overdosing, even without narcan first aid will keep something overdosing alive. Why was he alone in cell without oversight? Press for investigation, press a wrongful death suit - it wasn't murder but it should not have happened, period. People don't deserve to die for being an addict and people are supposed to be safe in custody.

Lol, you reminded me of the WWF wrestlers of the 80s in your intro. Seriously, I've been in prison a couple of years, and I'm not particularly strong, but I never refused a good fight, and I have a particular disorder that makes me not have emotions at all, including fear. So I got some respect because even if I was going to get absolutely wrecked, I never show fear or refuse to fight. Not even once, and the guys respected that.

Love this video bro Random question but have you ever known someone during your time in prison/jail who you looked at and thought would be a total victim but ended up being someone who was about it and got respect? I think that could make for an interesting video! My cousin told me there were a couple guys that he did time with who were from these rich suburbs near where we're from that ended up being straight savages, contrary to what everyone at first thought lmao

Hey my names Chris and I started watching your channel in 2023 and I love your channel so much. I never been to state or federal prison but I did a little county time in Duval county jail in Florida and I made a few good friends in jail that unfortunately went to prison. I still talk to them occasionally and what they tell me is exactly what you preach on your channel. I know prison is way more intense than county jail so I can't talk about any prison experience but I love learning about the prison culture, atmosphere, and lifestyle. I saw some chomos in county but unfortunately couldn't smash em out cause I was on the verge of getting out and couldn't afford to catch an add on so I had to chill. I see how much you and all convicts despise chomos and it was weird how nobody put down on them. Prison is very different than county but I just wanted to know do chomos only get beat down in prison? Do chomos not get smashed in county jails? It was weird how even the real deal convicts allow these guys to breath when they should be getting run down on.
