I’ve been a survival enthusiast since I was a little guy and the number one way to survive has always been don’t be stupid and put yourself in a position to fail. The second one is if there is even a 1% chance for something to go wrong prepare for it beforehand as if it’s an absolute certainty.

Amazing! My dad went to that island, crazy place. Marines tried to burn the whole place to kill the snakes and this of course didn’t work you, that’s why we named in Portuguese as “burned island” not this exactly translation but I tried my best

I live in this state and have known about this island for quite sometime. I remember these marooned fishermen on the news in 2019. Some facts the video didn't say: - these vipers are this much more venomous than mainland one's because there are no mammals on the island, so they ihad to evolve to feed primarily on the birds that are abundant there. These birds nest on the trees, which means the snakes are specialized in climbing trees to get them, and have specially potent venom to kill them before they can fly away. - the concentration of snakes on the island is estimated to be 10 -12 PER SQUARE METER. That's right. No natural predators. - the sea around the island is full of rocks and there's several sank vessels around it.

Every year I spend some time in Itanhaém or Peruíbe beaches, in front of the Snake Island, and today is one of those days. I can't help but stare at the island and wonder about all the creatures and how the Jacararas ended up there in the first place, and what's happening there right now. I use to go fishing on these Island's waters since I was a teenager. But I would NEVER step on this island except in case on shipwreck. In this video, they said about chances to survive or die, but the truth is that we have never heard of anyone who was bitten by this species and survived. In Brazil they are named "Jararaca Ilhoa" (Bothrops insularis). And, they forgot to tell that the deadliest thing about these snaked is the fact that they bite you from above: the attacks are mostly from snakes which are on the trees, not on the floor...

This is my worst nightmare come to life. I used to have this recurring nightmare where snakes were everywhere. Think of “the floor is lava”, but it’s “the floor is snakes”. They even hung down from the ceilings. So in this dream, I’m basically trying to navigate this series of endless rooms frantically dodging snakes and getting bitten in the process. Absolutely dreadful.

I had this dream when I was younger too. The floor was sand/dirt, with only a small concrete path that had snakes too. They didn't move, most of them at least. They were just there with their vibrant colors.

I have exactly the same kind of nightmare, plus there are people I know inside it doing their life casually and asking me to do stuff like going in some place or just cooking, but without caring about the snakes around, and angry at me when I don’t do stuff quickly enough, since it sounds I’m the only one seeing those snakes xD

It's true hahaha if you ever visit the Amazon rainforest or the Pantanal wetlands here in Brazil, swimming in rivers is definitely not a good idea. Besides piranhas, alligators and aquatic snakes, these tiny fish called candirus are attracted to urine, so they will swim up your urethra, latch on to your mucosa and start sucking your blood.
