I dont use cutters. I use my fingers and snap them off at a joint. Dip them in rooting gel,put them in 4 inch pots with potting mix and place in a window,doesnt matter east ,west ,south, and water . Sucess! Doesnt matter what time of year.

I gave my mom geraniums almost every Mother's Day when I was in elementary school. Thanks to this video (and Mom's green thumb keeping the plants alive for actual decades) I'm going to take cuttings from those plants to see if I can grow my own!

I just stick the cuttings directly into soil and they grow just fine during spring/summer. Just has to remember to keep the soil moist at the beginning before they root in.

Its Mother's Day today here in Alabama (zone 7b). My husband bought me a beautiful bright pink geranium hanging basket a couple of weeks ago. 🌸 I have transplanted it into a nice large pot on our deck. It gets full morning to around noon sun in its current location. I've had the best luck with geraniums by just giving them full morning sun and keeping yellow/brown leaves trimmed off to keep my geraniums neat and pretty. 🌸 However, I never knew how to take cuttings from a mother plant successfully until I watched your video explaining the steps. You explained and demonstrated the process very well!! I think I will take some cuttings from my new geranium that I love so much! 🌿🌱🌿 Thanks to you I feel confident that my cuttings will thrive and we'll be able to enjoy baby geraniums in a little over a month or so! 🌸🌿 Thank you for all the information you shared!! 🌸🌿🌱🌿🌸

I pruned my geraniums one year and left the prunings on paper for weeks, in my garage. When I eventually got around to planting the prunings, I was amazed that most grew. They are very hardy plants, I find. From Australia.

I have a geranium that belonged to my son and my little granddaughter loves watching it grow and flower. She is amazed how plants grow, she's 7 now so I hope to show her what I can about flowering plants. This will be so much fun for her. Thank you for sharing this.

Geraniums are easy to propagate. I just pruned my lot and compost them, some are growing where I dump them.

I trim mine starting in jan zone 10b. Remove dry leaves and I stick them into the soil. Done. 50% grow. I also stick them in water. I tie all like cuttings with rubber bands and put in water.

I do this with baby food jars, fish emulsion from my iwn tanks. I see roots in 2 wks.

I use geraniums in my 6 hanging planters every year and keep them over the winter. This year, probably because of all the rain we've had in the Northeast, my plants aren't doing very well. One stem broke off, after I had already watched this video. I put it in a glass of water, cutting the end at an angle, about a week and a half ago and now it has a tiny green leaf starting to grow on it. Absolutely no flowers or leaves were on it! Wish I could upload a pic to show you!

Don't you use that dusting compound on the bottom of the stem to start your cuttings in the dirt when planting in pots...root hormones?

I really loved your content and subscribed! How do you store the mother plant in the winter? I live in zone 5 ... I have kept a potted hydrangea plant in my garage over the winter months and it has come back for me for the last four years! Do I just treat the geranium plants the same?

When you bring in for winter, do the plants still need sunlight? Or can sit in dark garage? Do you still water the plant if sitting in dark garage?

Question? When you bring them in the Winter do you just put them with the dirt also. I am from the North, moved to the South. We always took the dirt off and hung them upside down in the Cellar. Or, does it matter which way you do them?
