Me as a lvl 10 sprout noticed a big mass of players and as curious as I am, I went in there and discovered the cutest lala I had seen by then. Everyone would try to pet, cheer or kneel to her, until the unbelievable happened: a random Elezen showed, slapped the poor lala and left. Everyone got soooo mad they all started to chase the criminal, shouting "DO NOT HARM THE LALA" "HE IS JUST A CHILD" "HOW COULD YOU" while others would try to comfort the lala. That was quite memorable and I was like what did just happen? ??? x'D still funny to think of it

I literally started playing today and my first race was lalafell and people were constantly following me, petting me and kneeling down. Now I finally found out why. This community is amazing XD.

While you did do your research for this video, there are many things to add. As a lalafell, I can inform you that most of these interactions are with the La Noscian regional variant of our kind. Those of that area, while abandoned from their parents once they leave the nest, will usually be picked by the yellowjackets as the coastal lalafell have become an endangered species. The ones that are not picked become feral or are devoured by goobue. This is in contrast with that of Thanelan, the region that we first stepped from the void and the majority of our kind can be found. There, the lalafell are not as soon to part with their own, instead forming large communal nests. These large groupings tend to be more fierce to those outside of the "harvest," the scientific classification for a group of lalafell, and are known to combine their stares for mass possession. Be warned that no amount of protection can stop a harvest large enough from stealing your soul. The other side of the spectrum would be the Gridanian lalafell, my kind. It is a well known fact that the padjal protect the forests there, and as such the majority of lalafell from the neighboring region of Thanelan can not enter. Many years prior, however, our people managed to suppress the voidal nature in our ancestry and passed through the barrier without being erased. Due to this, the Gridanian variant of lalafell can not use their possession abilities and are generally safe to approach. We tend to hide our nests well, blending in the the dense foliage. I'm a sprout and as a lalafell you get the benefit of headpats. I had a nice interaction with a bard yesterday and she gave me headpats before sitting down and she also gave me a performance on her harp, I of course clapped afterwards and she blew me a kiss before leaving. I definitely picked the right race.

How to talk to a lala: Step 1: Don't

A few more tips: 1. Some lalafells can sometimes bite if you by some chance touch part of their face when pating them on the head (unless you are lalafell yourself). 2. You may be tempted to touch lala's cheeks or tummy, but stop right there! That is like asking to touch a cat without knowing if it is neutral, angry or relaxed. Again remember, their bite will hurt! These lalafell parts are usually restricted to being touched only by other lalas. Remember - lalas trust lalas! 3.When hugging a lalafell, keep in mind mage lalafells such healers are physically weaker. You can squeeze them in your arms but careful not too hard! Yes they are squishy but the lalafell mages are physically weaker and do not have the muscle protection, therefore it is possible to break a bone or two without much force leaving one disabled or possibly cause accidental internal organ damage. That will ironically make the lalafell suffer. 4.Kissing lalas is safe but wash your hands before you touch a lalafell anywhere close to the face (with their permission). Skin irritation is real possibility, take a shower before that. Lalafell will appreciate your cleanliness... 5. Dont wake a sleeping lalafell! It is a living creature like you and it deserves a rest just like you... respect lalafell's personal space.
