I’m 39 and for some reason the past 4 years I’ve developed these weird lil hairs that are a diff hair texture than the rest of my hair and they also come in shorter !!! Drives me NUTS. What is the cause of this ??? No one knew what I was taking about and here it is
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond Жыл бұрын
Hi Six1Nina! A few things that can cause hair breakage on top are: heat damage from styling tools (always use a heat protectant), hair accessories such as hair clips or rubber bands that pull off hair when we remove them (always use satin or silk scrunchies), pulling hair back too tightly like in a ponytail, brushing hair too hard (always start from bottom up). If the hair is pulled out (either accidentally or by plucking) from the root, it could damage the hair follicle. When this happens, the hair will either not grow back or it could grow back a different texture-coarse and wiry.

Can you put jojoba oil on loose ends or can you put it on your hair after washed

After covid I have lots if breakage and fly aways especially on top. Can I add jojoba oil to the flyaways or can I add it to scalp and ends after washing, which means leaving it in till my next wash which will be in a few days. Is that OK or will I cause more harm.
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond Жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon! Yes, you can add jojoba oil to your ends and to your scalp after washing-it is a sealant so it will seal in the moisture. You can use it on damp or dry hair. If you have fine hair, use a very, very small amount. No need to reapply before your next hair wash day because it should stay on your hair until your next wash. It's best to use unrefined jojoba oil because it's full of all the nutrients that helps strengthen hair and makes hair healthier. It's a golden yellow color so if you have silver/gray/white hair, be careful because it could stain your hair. Refined jojoba, on the other hand, is clear but most of the nutrients have been lost during the refining process. Hope that helps!

@@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond not to be a pain but I added some jojoba prob a teaspoon to my ends and some close to scalp...I wash my hair tomorrow. I've lost hair due to covid. Now I'm paranoid. I read okay to leave jojoba in hair till washing and next can't leave jojoba in more than overnight. But if you wash your hair put jojoba in shampoo. Then after washing add a few drops to scalp and massage in. So basically if you wash your hair 2x week, this is in your hair for days. So my question is what's better for hair thinning, leaving oil or not..covid hair shedding has me devastated. 2 says ago I did a jojoba and rosemary treatment...hair felt nice..soft but still dry especially top and sides. So frustrating so I added more jojoba 2 days later..I'm hoping I'm not overdoing it. But also afraid to wash it out cause I loose more hair 😒 I'm so sorry about going on and on...scared as heck

@@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond thank you so much for answering so quickly I started watching you by the flyaways and gray hair. I am transitioning to gray, I'm kind of having a hard time dealing with it considering I still work and I figured I'd wait till retired 2 yrs But with alot of shedding from Covid, I best not dye it too. I did 2x but that's the last straw..fine hair is touchy..I had fine but alot and was strong, now I shed...hair is everywhere...If I had thick hair I wouldn't be so worried. Is there a good shampoo for thin hair or something to prevent hair loss? Dud you ever hair of Millcreek Keratin...seems to not have harsh ingredients.

@@sharonjurczyk8180 Sharon, I am really, really sorry you are going through this. I had hair loss due to the hair dye and once I stopped dyeing my hair it started to grow back. It’s been 4 years and the areas where I went bald are still healing but it has filled in. Hopefully, now that you have stopped using dye, that will help stop a lot of the hair loss. I didn’t use anything to prevent hair loss since I didn’t need to (because my hair grew back on its own)but I use an Apple Cider vinegar rinse to keep my hair strong and healthy. It is supposed to help stimulate hair growth. Here is the link to the video I made about the Apple Cider Vinegar rinse. m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iKljdsZh0qrWhH0.html I can’t say it will help since we are all different but just sharing what I use. Honestly, you may need to see a Dr to give you something to help stop the hair loss.

Use small amounts for most: 1. Coconut oil - not recommended for thick or coarse hair 2. Lotion - use clear or white to prevent staining 3. Lip balm - don't use flavors as they contain dye 4. Eyebrow gel 5. Clear mascara 6. Hairspray - use alcohol free

Is flyaways a sign of dry hair and breakage
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond Жыл бұрын
Yes, flyaways could be caused by dry hair and breakage but it could also be caused by the humidity, your hair type (texture), or if you've had hair loss or thinning and your hair is growing back, then those little hairs that stand up could be the new hair growth.
