Caroline, I love how you are deliberate and consistent, and respectful, and that encourages the horse to show you the same and also their love for you. I’ve learnt so much from you , thank you

Thank you! Perfect timing for me! I'm working w a new horse I'll be riding and he has people trauma and freezes when you touch him. He won't let me catch him in the paddock either, so i have to start in the barn. I just watched the video previous to this one, and you answered so many questions here for me! Thank You from New Hampshire!

Hi Monique and Welcome! Great to hear! I recommend starting with relationship before training and work on bonding and doing things that will make your horse's experience great with you. I offer 2 online courses that teach about this and so much more, my Spirituality Course and Mastery Program www.taoofhorsemanship.com/online-masterclass-courses.

ABIA RANCH this lady is completely right, having a horse respect your personal space is so important for safety and also for functionality when you are moving them in and out of tight spots, and it all starts with a good solid foundation of ground work, to many people can’t wait to get on and ride their new horse and they leave so many holes in their horses training, and then struggle to make a great horse out of it ,

Thanks Caroline. I always learn so much from your channel.Do you have any Beste relatives in Illinois? I use so many of your training techniques with my dogs. I can definitely see the connection you have with the horses. They love and respect you.Be blest☦️👩🏻‍🦳🐾

great video. do you have any tip on how to make my horse not that "pushy" when i have treats for her? she is 21 months old, ive owned her since 2021 july. she didnt use to be like this, it only started when she got a new horse in the pasture, who is older than her, shes 8. when i want to give a carrot or apple or anything to my horse, she starts to be pushy and gets in my zone, even tries to bite me or kick sometimes. she once bit me badly so i slapped her, her reaction to this was trying to kick me then backing up. i dont know if it was the correct answer from me to the bite. but it doesnt happen when the other horse is not around. do you think she became this dominant because of the other horse? do you have any tips on how to handle this behavior? do you have any book or website recommendations that wrtie about horse behaviors? i really would like to educate myself on this topic.

That great . My Baby Colt 8 mos old Gypsy Paint Cross , has started stopping every few steps . I back him and start over . He fallows a few steps and has actually today spread His front legs out as to brace Himself and stopped . I could have laughed 🤣 . He was just gelded a few days ago. This behavior started not long before Bear was gelded .Je use to walk without stopping. He still comes to me to be Haltered even in Pasture. He will come to me with just my Hand leading as well . But I have to use a Halter because I board Him at a Stable . Bear has plenty of room to run around in His own Big Corral. He has 2 Big Oak Trees He runs through. Anyway Caroline, I will try the method on Your Wonderful Video. Big Bear Hugggs Laura 💜 Bear

Hi do you think you can use different methods of backing up your horse?or is it best to just stick to one method when you are first training a green horse?
