In training you never say the cue in the first session because when you are not 100% sure that the dog will do it, and say the cue and the dog doesn't do the right position, you just fucked that cue up. If for exemple you ask the cue down, and you just manage to make your dog sit, then he will associate it as a sit and not a down ect and it will take forever for your dog to associate it with the right position, or it might never hapen because he will be too lost :) Hope its clear :D

9 - 10 months is still super young so yes ! Even a super old dogs can learn good manners or new tricks. It could just take a little longer but that depends on each dog ( regardless of the age too, some are slower than others too)

Oh damn i just saw your reply i am really sorry i do not get notification for replies and i get alot of messages. First step is to give the bone properly. Do not just put it on the floor. Either put it on the floor after asking your dog to sit and prevent your dog from getting the bone until you say so ( If he moves toward the bone, step forward so the bone is behind you and hold a broom or something between you and the dog so you do not get bitten) If you are not comfortable doing so, ask your dog to sit, and wait for your dog to give you eye contact before you put the object on the floor ( That means respect, that your dog is waiting for your next command). Next step --- You could use a fake arm that you buy for Halloween and use it as a extension of your arm ( or anything that is an extension of your arm like a spatula for example or a broom). You need to work on your energy. Calm and assertive and use a sound never screaming or be aggressive. What you are going to do is when he has his bone, try to exchange it for a treat ( A very tasty one like chicken sausage) If he does release the bone take it and give the treat. He will associate it as when i give the bone i have a reward.. Give the bone back, but this time do not release the whole bone, try to see if he can manage to chew on it abit while you still hold it, so he gets used to having your hand near his bone. If that does not work you will need your fake hand. You will reach for your dog bone with the fake hand after putting it down. If he growls and bite you leave the hand there ( since its not yours, nothing to be scared of) you will keep your fake hand on it until your dog backs away from the toy and then give him a treats without removing the toy at first ( it it very important that you have the right energy here so you are calm and assertive, not stressed, not angry ect..). If your dog doesn't back up put stays at the same position, slowly push him with the hand and going forwards so the bone gets behind you. This is how you claim the bone as yours. Eventually you will take it away to give it back and repeat the process. Repeat the process as long as needed. . The key here is to use your energy, telling your dog that this bone is yours, because you are in charge. Do not be scared, and do not remove the hand at ANY moment because then you tell your dog that being aggressive works. I have a video i did that with a dog with food aggressively on my channel you can check it out. If you are not comfortable, and since i do not want you to get bitten since i am not there to assist you, here is another option using treats only. Second option is more of using treats, this is a copy pasted comment of a girl asking for food aggression but it is the same for you except that its a Bone instead of food: You will need something special like pieces of chiken sausages. You will put the bone on the ground the way i told you in my first paragraph. You will throw sausages at your dog while he eats and progressively get closer session by session. You have to start at a distance where your dog does not growl at you. If he does you are too close to him. In one session you will not get as close to his bowl. You need to take this slowly. It might take you 10 session before you are somewhat close to him while he eats. What it does it that he will associate your presence close to his food to positive. When you will be to the point where u are close to him. use your tool ( a fake arm or something from thr kitchen that is long) to start to touch him while he eats. You throw the sausage into the bowl.and touch is side for 1 second. If he growls do not remove your tool. If he doesnt growl you take it out ( like it needs to touch him 1 second if he doesnt growl) You will start at on the side of his bum and gradually get closer to the bowl as the sessions goes ( side of the the bum, belly and front legs) Always throwing pieces of sausage before touching him for 1 second if he foesnt growl. If he does, you keep it there and remove it when he stops. When you are able to touch him with your tool on those 3 places of his body the last step is to place the tool/ fake arm in his bowls If you can put piece of food on the tool/hands also has throwing bitd of them in the bowl is good. If he growls when your tool is in his bowl DO NOT move it away. Else he will understand that it is working and you leave him alone. Since its not your real hand do not remove it if he tried to bite it or growld at it. When hr stops you remove it, throw couple of sausages and put the tool back in there until he assocites you being close to your bowl with positive. You can choose the option you are more comfortable with but i work with option one :) Both option require time, patience and repetition. Do not give a bone unless you are ready to work with your dog. If he can still practice his bad behavior, because you give him a bone and have no time to practice, it wont change.
