Yeah its wild man, for me personally it was as you said also people insulting each other, grammar checking each other to the point that it'd lead to people demanding public fights. And then places like Vietnam and Malaysia you start to get the locals on them that start to grammar check the native speakers grammar....(New low of stupidity right here) I dont know about you im fluent English and know NOTHING about grammar in English or at least barely the basics, and why should we? You ask a Vietnamese or Malaysian grammar in their native language probably the same... Its all crazy, After my mother passed away i closed my facebook account and honestly felt better and no turning back..place is a sh** feast of toxic slush... Find a job on there as its the best way, and then get the hell out of dodge ha ha

I agree, the conversations are pretty discouraging. I've seen flat out racism too. Or people coming to conclusions about one's overall competency based on one quick sentence they posted with negligible errors. My guess is either those people had negative experiences and they're projecting it on others or they're trying to mitigate possible competition because they're just miserable people who think only for themselves. There's no way someone can be happy in life if they act that way towards strangers at large.

Also, I think it's important to keep a low profile on those groups. You never know who is reading your comments and what they do with that information. Worst case scenario would be recruiters saving that information and logging it/sharing it with other schools. For example if you went on an angry rampage and cussed someone out like some people do on there. I've also heard of people warning others about posting resumes publicly and having their document replicated by others to use for illegitimate purposes and ill intent. Not sure how true this is but I wouldn't be surprised given the nature of those forums. Dave I knew you are far different from those toxic people haha and that's why I enjoy your content. @@Kn1ghtMan Ohh this is true DO NOT POST your CV, passports, or other information on these Sounds like common sense, but it's done a LOT I remember back in 2019 or 2020 i forgot but a friend of ours from South Africa apparently posted his with a CV on facebook blocked out a few numbers sure.. but ended up having his ID Stolen via passport a few weeks later, and it wasn't from the post i'd guess His passport was used ALL OVER FAcEbOOK as marketing advert for agents doing visa extensions.... China is the King of scams, if you did okay there honestly I do not see how you'd have problems in Cambodia. Most of the scams here are ideally from the Chinese community anyways. I don't know if it's more agressive here compared to China but over all they scamming is typically minor anyways and those typical things you'd expect. For work Cambodia or Vietnam might be best, Cambodia is getting compeative Vietnam is known to have older teachers. Hey thank you I am glad it helped out. In regard to when to apply if your intent is Cambodia, it is simlar to Vietnam were majority of schools are centers meaning year round hiring and classes. As of NOW this week is mid-terms for most 1 - 12th grade schools so if you are looking to work directly with a public gov school i'd say start applying in about a month and try to be here or close as many will prefer applicants that are local not abroad. With cities in Camboida there are 2 main ones, PP and Siem reap, honestly your best bet. I could go on for some time on towns that are amazing but if you are not used to the Asian culture it can be a bit of an over culture shock and a real throw back to pre modern living and whats here for you to you to use and have. In all, i'd say get your CV up, some type of intro video as schools are starting to want that and start applying now with the intent start date you want and get in early, i said in a month which is accurate but is also when 100's of others are applying, looking, and schools are digging though old applications from the prior hiring spree,

If i am NOT mistaken you need to take an English exam like the other countries in Asia if your not from a native speaking country. The test cost and what not are up to you, they very depending where you get them done, just sure its accredited. Check with your accountant for this full law. To make 700 a month? Thats really not a lot, i'd say just a typical parttime border line full time job and your set. The average pay in Cambodia is 13 to 20 an hour so it can very. Most my people working now make 1200 to 1700 a month working the typically 20 teaching hours a week My advise check the activity books below we've written over the years, learn those walk into class rooms and you could get away with fill in gigs and make that rather easy and be in high demand. In general Cambodian schools want the "Fun" teacher not the effective one, as odd as that sounds. You are talking about the FBI check in the states? If so it can take 2 to 6 months,, its rather insane. Honestly just get it done here, it cost about 10 to 20 USD and you get it in a few weeks and the Immigration can use it for your permit much easier. Even Candianis and Aussies have to have their converted to VNese and stamped so in all we all kind of suffer this battle. Your school, business, or wife should know where to go any major city police station can take care of it Be ready for the question of "Where were you living when you were 15" they go back this far. There are international schools that can be costly. In General Thailand, cambodia, Vietnam are heavly communist based styles meaning they focus on national/local education I.e. government and similar. Also all 3 are "Pay to win" nations of education meaning grades are ether sold by paying the teachers a bribe (Vietnam cambodia) or they are just given so the schools can get a bonus from the gov (Thailand) If you are teaching online and consider online or home schooling it would be ideally 1000% better. If you must do a school research the BBC or American international schools, are costly but way more western style

Isn't a colege degree from a univeserity? In America its just about the same meaning so maybe i miss understand. Ether way in Cambodia as i said in the video you don't need a degree at all, just a TEFL so you are good from what im told from my PH friend. Universial Digital Certicate? I am NOT sure on that, is there a way to get a hard copy of it, the Governments inAsia will WANT a version of it. Extra work work i'd say go all in on facebook its what agents, teachers, parents, and schools all use and respond the fastest this way Weekend and evening jobs part or full time, i'd say apply at some of the English centers, those are typically their hours as it doesn't bump times with public schools. A BIG trend going on in Vietnam and Thailand though is online teaching. I hear it takes a LOT of work to get into it if you just doing basic English, but it is another option Hope it helps :)

It is sad, the system really F's it up for it all in the end, so even the ones that do care..it really doesn't matter as the bad ones will pay to win, and because of that it devalues the school to western places and other nations surrounding. Yet when they do it’s cafe. Selfie, sleep, cafe, restaurant and sleep. Totally obsessed with food. Which is not great at best.I really love my students. I’d love to take them on holiday.

It'll depend if you have a degree or not, native or not, and exp. If your native 800 to 1200,nonenative remove about 300 a month from that. Ether way its enough to live off of in Cambodia

So are you annoyed i advised people of the legal system in education and working in Cambodia, or are you annoyed that Cambodian schools can legally hire none university degree holders to work in Cambodia? You are teaching in Japan and Cananda is nothing similar to Cambodia and the standard are border line ground zero.. I think you confuse what a teacher is and what someone in SE Asia telling other kids how to say words are... All good though ETher way these are the laws of Camobida, i can advise you to their government website or your own Embassy in the country to give concerns of their legal system
