How to Teach Ep.3: Make it Fun (Trismegistus)

There are a lot of things you can do to improve your teach, but my favorite technique is to make it fun. Teaching a game can be dreadfully dull, and board games are meant to be enjoyed, so try to bring some of that enjoyment into the teach itself.

I have been told I am good at teaching boardgames and I take pride in that. I watch almost every video board game youtubers out on the subject and add a little something new to my tool kit every time thanks!

Trismegistus is awsome, underrated and underappreciated because of a not ideal rule book (while the criticism is justifiable, I feel it is a bit exaggerated). It does take some people a while to get it but when it clicks they love it.

I am a bit OCD about terminology in real life and especially tabletop games Idk why. My brain goes ahhhhhh! Every time someone calls a resource in a game by the wrong name but I usually let it slide. I dont want to be that guy.

I am sometimes guilty of being mr serious when teaching, but I'm passionate about my games. I put alot of effort into making sure that the persons first experience with the game hooks them.

I refuse. I will forever teach my board games in as dry a way as humanly possible. If my board game nights dont begin with encyclopedia readings looking like a better option I've failed.

How I teach games. “Let’s watch this how to play.” I’m only partially joking, if I know my friends like KZfaq and learn from that better then I do use a how to play, way better.

RTFM ahh i missed going to it earlier this year. Never been to a con, how is Strategicon? I live pretty close to the airport. Is it just nonstop gaming? With all the current events happening now, I wonder if well get the one that happens during Memorial day.

I got it at San Diego Comic-con a couple years ago from We Love Fine, but I haven't been able to find it since. The artist is Scott C. but it's not on his website either. Sorry.
