Growing up for me between all my cousins when we opened presents for Christmas I would always open the card first read it and even before opening the presents i would hug and and thank whoever gave me the present let them know how much I appreciate the gift. Even if I got clothes which no kids wants I would always give gratitude. That really impressed my aunt's and uncles and later would always give me money and tell me how polite I was. Compared to my cousins who would just rip open there presents and not reading or thanking anyone. If they got clothes literally moving on to the next presents. My mom had a very different approach to how you teach your kids manners but nonetheless had the same outcome. I recently had a daughter who is about 8 months, and I really want to raise a little girl who is extremely polite and can read the room. I found your video very helpful thank you. I hate to judge but rarely do I see kids that have manners it's just very off putting

Good advice. I'm going to share it with my sister in-law. Her kids are older at 11 and 14 but these habits should be a builder.

This is really good content. I found it very helpful and have taken notes to implement with my 4 years old. So thanks. However, I have a question please. While we want to not hurt the cooks feelings by not giving 'negatuve comments on foods' ( I hope I guessed the reason right). How best can they communicate that they wouldn't be eating that or would prefer not to be served that? Or are they meant to just suck it up and eat whatever they are served no matter how it tastes to them?

Good start in life but will they carry on with these good manners when they grow up? Sometimes, Manners tend to disappear as some people grow up.

Like any habit, good manners need to be used consistently to be maintained. The most likely predictor of whether your children will continue be polite is the behavior of people around them. Hopefully your kids spend time with some well-mannered people as they grow up!
