Thank you for such good videos! Right from the beginning of the training. My 4 year old is VERY difficult and dominant. Today I started doing some things with her loose in the school. Suddenly something clicked. I thought it might be called liberty training, and I was right. I wanted some fun things to do with her, because she’s a clever creature. I can’t believe your resources! I can only say thank you, because you honestly may be the difference between me selling my beautiful home red or keeping her. And I’d much rather keep her with me for life!

Thank you, Susan. Are you in Yorkshire? Fun things to add to our arena ground exercises with my Thoroughbred. Best wishes, Happy Holidays, Nuala & David, Virginia, U.S.

I think it was wiggly giggly, but any jack shaped toy will work like this one, or anything the horse can pick up easily.

What are you giving as treats/rewards?

she said she filled the rag with treats and it looked like she was feeding treats as well. But you can use anything your horse likes, although i do not recommend treat training a horse that has been starved or that is possessive over there food. I personally would not treat train any horse because just like dogs they will start demanding the treat and wont work unless you have a treat.

@@rosegolden7842 This is not true at all. Trainers who use positive reinforcement teach the horse (or dog) not to be pushy about food, that is, manners around food! It is one of the first things that is taught when working with food rewards. Positive reinforcement teach horses that are naturally pushy around food not to be pushy around food, WITH FOOD. The idea that animals get aggressive only happens when training with food is not done correctly. The idea that the animal will only do what is asked if there is food is also wrong. Food acts as a reinforcement of the desired behavior. If something good happens (like food) each time the behavior is done, then the animal will start to enjoy doing it (something that doesn't happen when using pressure or relief, considering that the pressure is aversive). For this reason, the behavior will persist even if there is no food.
