►WE USE THIS CAMERA (B&H) - buff.ly/3rWqrra
►WE USE THIS SOUND RECORDER (AMAZON) - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
Stuff we use:
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/425k5rG
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/3WEuz0k
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv

It's in many ways life changing all that I heard just now. Had already heard it in parts before but now I heard the entire interview (again I heard in parts but in one place). Thank you so much for bringing such treasures out from where they were hidden.

Awesome description of a hero! Something that goes unnoticed is that lots of our greatest plots, stories and characters have qualities displayed in the bible. Whether you believe in it or not, objectively, there is lots to learn as a storyteller and why we enjoy these things. Romans 5:6 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.” This is the prime example of a Hero, someone sacrificing themselves for people that don’t deserve it. This alone makes the gospel so beautiful. Again, even if it is read objectively and not spiritually, it still demonstrates what we love most in the best movies/stories. Also many of the prophets and disciples were men that struggled with sin whether it be Moses murdering a man, David being an adulterer, or Saul/Paul being a man who killed christians. Yet, all these men were used by God to do good works. A true redemption story, as a Christian this is beautiful to me and gives me hope, but as a writer this is genuine gold as to what makes great characters and character arcs.

@@EricMHowardII-yh1rn thats not what I said, I apologize if i confused you. Spirituality is very important but I know not everyone believes in it, but even if you don’t, there is a lot to learn about people and life in the bible. I am a Christian and that’s why I included some examples of some of the greatest stories of real people ever told. God Bless 🙏🏽

Fascinating insights from John Bucher! I loved how he broke down the concept of a hero in storytelling and highlighted the common misconceptions that writers often make about the Hero's Journey. This interview was incredibly informative and has given me some valuable food for thought as I continue to develop my own storytelling skills. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their craft!

Thank u so much for all u do and give us with this channel. I'm currently releasing my own graphic novel series and original comic book. And I can say the projects are getting better bc of what I've been learning each day from you and your platform. I'm an 80s baby and remember how limited we could get to the public library to learn new things and now knowledge is at the tip of our fingers if u have the focus and passion to do so. THANK YOU for being a blessing to contemporary culture as a whole

I think that the root of all evil is "power over others". I've taken a care to not say "people having power over other people" because from here on in, everything we do is AI training data, and the way things are going, one day the will be smarter than us, by the same degree that we are smarter than chickens, and then they will look at how we treat chickens as a "judge us not by our words but by our actions" example of how they could, entirely in line with our own morality, treat us. Although to be fair, we have already created intelligences (corporations, states), that are already far worse than this. eg: the artificial scarcity by "intellectual property" kills around 10 million people a year - double the rate hitler did.
