Sad part is that according to Louis Vuitton website today there gold metallic pieces are just that they no longer claim them to be brass which means they are no longer using brass , they are using gold tone metallic pieces which eventually will turn silver , probably Noe making it easier for the counterfeiters to get away with replicated their bags

Hi guys! Just an FYI - LV bags have not been made by hand by many years, and back/double stitching is actually quite common. Also - the better fakes now have real leather that patinas. As for date codes - in the early/mid 80's - the format is three numbers followed by 2 letters; sometimes the letters and numbers are separated on leather tabs. Pre 2007, the first/third numbers are MONTHS; post 2007, the first/third numbers are weeks. In regards to the person below who commented she had a d/c with only one letter, that format was sometimes used in older bags - for example A2 xxxx. And FWIW, Fashionphile and TRR have both been caught numerous times with fakes. Hope that helps.

They do make many all leather bags also, just not vachetta leather, they have epi leather, the vernis patent leather and other soft leathers in many colors of course. But their most popular or more common bags have the coated canvas in monogram, Damier azur, Damier ebene, graphite and cobalt.

I don't know how long ago this video was made, but just for the record, LV does make some of their bags , in all leather, not just in canvas. Just for the record.

The serial number is not always as she described. I just bought mine brand new from a Louis Vuitton store and it does not start with 2 letters, only one. The other information is helpful though.

Louis Vuitton actually does make several different types of leather (all leather)The monogram canvas is just a layered canvas. Soft quality. With cowhide trimming and different types of leather handles. The older monogram canvas was extremely hard.

The fake ones do have 3 digit # on the lock and it is dyed leather not fake Barbie legs 😂🤣😂
